Definitely got to try that restaurant I see that a few people have recommended that one. It's amazing that you've been going for 18 year!!
Both very excited, especially since our families are scattered throughout the UK so it'll be lovely having everyone together. Will the weather be OK in April do you think?
We have watched brides and grooms (especially in the kilt!), almost dying with the heat in Sept/early Oct. Doesn't do a lot for the make-up!
Jacqui, if you contact La Mer, ask for Tony or Andreas and mention Alex and Janet from Scotland told you about them. Andreas is the elder brother and 'the gaffer', but Tony's english is better.

Hi, I am getting married at easter this April and about the only thing we have not arranged is where to have our wedding breakfast! There are 35 of us and probably want a traditional style meal. Can anyone offer any advice?
I am getting Married in Paphos on the 30th May 2006 and we are booked into the Atlantida beach restaurant in Paphos.
We booked this through Cyprus dream wedding they are great they will send you lots of pictures etc. Everyone I have spoke to on this web site who had their reception in the restaurant have said its great.
Hope this helps. Good Luck
Debbie
an advice when it comes to photography.
In UK you have some professional organizations for photography like BIPP, MPA, SWPP. Throuhg their site you can get professional photographers in Cyprus who are really professional.
have fun
Andreas
I recommend Manhattans
could your give me some details on Manhatten where abouts it is etc?
The menu is local and international so should cater for the fussiest diner. The staff are excellent and there is a good wine list.
thank you for your reply, do they have a website?
http://3ds.com.cy/manhattan/
the pictures do not do it enough justice as it doesn't show the interior
did a search for you and found this. the pictures do not do it enough justice as it doesn't show the interior

Where are you having your reception?
We have booked the hotel for ourselves and our son who will be 22 mths, my parents, my sister and partner, my other sister, partner and son and our friends who have 3 kids. The best man is staying nearby self catering, and as we haven't sent invites yet no one else has booked any where yet. I am leaving that up to the other guests to book now.
How about you?
As for honeymoon we get married on the wed, fly to Dubai fri - mon, family are having our son in cyprus for us, then back to cyprus for last 2 days of holiday.
It would be great to hear what you are planning and have sorted, and maybe we can help each other.
take care ,shelley
You have to look on http://www.zucchiniweddings.com - it is a gorgeous restaurant near Paphos with faboulous food, decor etc. They are an English couple who own it and the views are fantastic. Go on to the website and look at the photo gallery and look at the menu section too.
We are getting married there next June and having our reception there too. They will do everything for you - arrange flowers, hairdresser, beauty, recreate the wedding cake you would like from a picture - it is a really classy place. I found out about on this forum somewhere last year funnily enough!
Hope this helps,
Emma

I am also getting married at the Capo Bay on June 14th this year so will let you know how we get on!
I only got my dress this weekend and still havent chosen where to have the reception, any help would be appreciated! I also have been trying to get some information on the Evandrea as it sounds lovely from the comments on this site. There will be about 20 adults and then my other future hubbys children who will be 5 and 7 and possibly a couple more kids. (It started with 6 guests and just kind of escalated!)
Apart from booking the date and time i havent done anything else and am starting to panic a bit now!!

I got married in September in a civil ceremony in Germasogeia followed by a catholic wedding blessing in the chapel in the grounds of our hotel, the Columbia Beach Resort. Here is my review of Medweds, as promised:
I would definitely recommend Medweds to anyone considering getting married in Cyprus. They are simply Superb! They organise everything from the transport from the airport, car hire, flowers, favours, limo, marriage licence, confetti to meetings with the priest.
Our wedding co-ordinator was Susan and she was fantastic. She arranged transport to collect me, hubby and hubby's family from the airport and also for my family who arrived on another flight. Susan arranged car hire so that me and hubby could get to our appointments easily. (We were staying in Pissouri which is off the beaten track).
The day after our arrival Susan came to meet us at our hotel. She ran through our arrangements, helped us to chose our flowers, favours and table decorations from a beautiful selection and basically took the stress out of everything. Susan then took me and hubbie to Limassol to get our marriage license and then to Germasogeia, where our civil ceremony was to take place. Susan showed us round and ran through what would happen on the day so we would know what to expect. Susan also arranged an appointment for us with the priest who was to marry us and his assistant Suzy. We were able to chose lovely personalized wedding candles, hymns and have a trial run-through of the wedding service.
Two days before the wedding I had a problem with the hairdresser I had booked. (She was basically trying to rip me off, charging me £495 for 4 up-do's and 2 blow-dries). It was late in the evening when I phoned Susan. I explained what had happened and asked her if she knew of any hairdressers that would be able to do my hair. Incredibly, she managed to book a hairdresser at such short notice. The hairdresser Chris, did the most fantastic hairstyles I've ever seen. I felt like a million dollars and my bridesmaids looked amazing.
On our wedding day itself, Susan arrived early. She accompanied us to Germasogeia for the civil ceremony and then came back to our hotel to co-ordinate our religious ceremony.
Susan organised the flowers for everybody, ensured the reception table was decorated just as I had requested with lovely favours, rose table decorations and place cards and generally ensured that everything ran smoothly. Susan ensured the whole thing went perfectly from start to finish.
The photography and DVD that Medweds arranged was exceptional. Our photographer was called Jorge and he did an amazing job. The photos are the best I have ever seen, the colours and the quality are fabulous. Everyone says we all look like film stars. I am so glad I decided to have a DVD, it is excellent. Everyone who has watched it has said how brilliant it is. It is also a permanent reminder of a wonderful, unique day.
Medweds is a professional company who, given the level of expertise have obviously been wedding planning for many years. Susan is fantastic. Her daughter Helen, who unfortunately I didn't get to meet, is also excellent. Helen provided me with all the info I needed to know from my first contact and answered my many numerous email queries. Both Susan and Helen took care of our needs from start to finish and their personal, unique service ensures a truly memorable day. If you're thinking of getting married in Cyprus choose Medweds, as they really do provide something extra special.
I can highly recommend Medweds. I got married in September and Medweds co-ordinated my wedding. Nothing is too much trouble for them, they are exceptional. See my full review:

great to hear from you I am going to have my reception at the Capo as have heard great things about it was thinking about Evandrea too as meant to be good for kids and my daughter will be 3 when we get married plus have quite a few kids coming too but Capo are meant to be excellent and its a great location too. I just got my dress last weekend too!! Was the first shop I went into. What are you both going to do with hair and makeup? I really want my hair in some kind of a down style its really long and thick and I will probably sweat buckets so everyone is trying to convince me to wear it up! Just trying to get invites sorted too to get some idea of numbers but hotel assures me that they dont need number until the day we arrive..................eeek!!!
