Hiya,
We stayed at Club Julian for two weeks in June last year. We had a nice holiday but for the money we paid we could have booked somewhere better.
The place was mobbed!!!! We had quite a difficult three year old with us who was too small for the slides, wasn't into the kiddies disco and was trying to run riot so not a nice easy relaxing holiday for us, as we didn't let him run riot!!! We ended up going every other night down to Club Atrium as Bar Havana has a great kiddies play area.
The hotel itself was clean enough and the rooms were okay, we were in the hotel half board and the food was good, the puddings out of this world!!! Not a great deal to eat if you have fussy children though.
The drinks inside the hotel were very expensive, at £2 a go for a coke from the pool bar, there were three of us and five times a day this works out quite expensive. Although they complain about it, we ended up buying cans of coke etc from the hotel shop and using them by the pool, even at that they were still twice the price of the little shop across the road but it was convenience.
The hotel operates on a wristband so no cash is spent inside the hotel complex at all, I found this very good as it saved me worrying where I'd left my purse lying (I always lose it!) and it meant you didn't have to worry about your purse whilst in the pool, as you could hide your wristband easier.
We didn't go into marmaris every night, we went in a few times, but there were plenty of good bars/restaurants around the Armutalan area that had good entertainment and fantastic staff, such as Mad Boys, The Rainbow and Bar Havana.
Trying to think of what else you would need/want to know. The slides at the hotel Julian are quite busy, but ideal for keeping older kids entertained. Theres a very small kiddies pool for younger children. There's the Airtours childrens clubs which are good although we maybe only used it once. The Airtours entertainment reps at this hotel are great, the usual rubbishy rep type entertainment but a good laugh and they work their backsides off!
We met some friends who had an apartment rather than a hotel room, one couple had one of the older apartments which hadn't yet been done up, they said it was smelly/dirty (I didn't personally see it). Another group of friends had a refurbished two bedroom apartment above the restaurant which was lovely, modern and had an excellent view of the pool and the mosque at the back of the hotel. I was quite jealous of their apartment.
Personally, I wouldn't book a hotel room, I would book an apartment and go self catering, you can always upgrade to half board once you are there for not really any difference in price. If anything it will prob work out cheaper. You'll see lots of people mention this in the reviews.
Anything else you need to know, please just ask!
Catherine
I have priced up the Club Julian and it comes up quite cheap with a 2 bed apartment working out about £200 cheaper than a 1 bed apartment - am not sure why! Have read it is cheaper to upgrade to half board on arrival. Would you say this hotel and Marmaris is suitable for young children. Have read it is quite lively but am hoping it is still okay for families. Went to Sunny Beach Bulgaria last year so am not sure how it compares with that! Would appreciate any advice/comments.
many thanks
Jenny
i have booked club julian for 2 weeks in july for my family aged 3,7,14,16 so i am hoping i have done the right thing, to be honest i feel a bit apprehensive about it.
my hubby always leaves the holiday to me so if its not veru nice/good its always my fault.
i think where ever you pick there will always be good and bad views. just go with your instinct.
happy hols pam xxxxxxxxx

Hi pammie...Jaytrip is at the club julian as we speak, i have asked for some info on their return...i will like wise when we go on the 12th june ...Gavin
I can only add that you are in a very good position. We stayed at the Epic last year which is next to the Club Julian. Dolmus pass really frequently and there are loads of nice restaurants nearby
I got back last night and will do a review soon.Mrs Jay!
I have just got back from Club Julian Hotel and had a great time.(review on review forum). My husband met a friend he hadnt seen for 39years! and it made our holiday.Weather was graet and it was 34c on Sunday at 5pm!I even managed to get to John Toohey,s birthday party at the Famous old kitchen. My husband was over the moon when the belly dancer got him to take his shirt off and she put her legs over his shoulder!.Not very good for his blood pressure! We had a great night and will go back to Icmeler soon.
i posted on another thread aswell as this one do you know why your review isn`t showing, ive clicked on the review a few times but its not there.
glad you had a good time,
do yuo know how much spending money we would need roughly for 2 wks mum dad and 3 kids, perhaps 2 trips.
thanks pammie xxxxxxx
Pammie,Its hard for me to estimate how much you will need for 2 weeks with children. We went for 10 days and spent £80 in the hotel on Efes and water. We went out some nights and didnt drink much as we were trying to lose the extra lbs we put on in March in Side on a 2 week AI holiday.I would buy the canned drinks for your children in a supermarket as 3.49TL for a glass of coke sprite etc will soon mount up.There are kettles in the rooms but you need to take teabags and coffee. If you ask on this forum how much a family will need to spend I am sure someone will advise you.Briar,my Hemera review I did in March has disappeared!.
i went on that link and can only find a jay trip post not a hotel review
maybe im being thick, ddeeerrrrrrrr
hi jay trip, welcome back and thanks for the report, looks like the hotel prices for drinks is a little steep....but never mind looks like we are going to have agreat time.....thanks Gavin
We went to Marmaris last July 2 adults and 3 children self catering and took £1550 most of which was spent on food and drink, if you shop round you will get good meal prices and even haggle with the restaraunt owners before you go in. We just went on the 1 trip (jeep safari), this was excellent. This year we are going AI to Club Kadikale in Bodrum.
Have a great time
Ron
Jay I looked everywhere for George for you but with no luck hence me not getting in touch with you.
Thanks for trying John. Our friends came home today,we came back on Monday.I have tried to look on Icmeler on line but for some reason my computer wont allow me.It is a clapped out old laptop given to me by my son.Hes looking out for a new one for me.When you download the photos I will go to an internet cafe as I am dying to see my husband and the bellydancer!.He hasnt been the same since!.Not good for his blood pressure having her legs over his shoulders!.We had a great time in the Famous old kitchen and will be visiting Icmeler soon.Jay
thanks for that, we spent about £2,300 in salou last year and didnt even like the place.
its not that we go on a budget holiday but i know the more we take the more we`ll spend.
on the other hand we only ahve one main family holiday a year and dont want to be tight either.
looking forward to it now.

Hi, my daughter is going to the Club Julian Apartments, Marmaris on 29th May with two small boys (15 months and 3 years). Could anyone please tell me if pool side towels will be provided?
No towels provided just mattresses.Turkish towels are really good quality and cheap,Theres a shop next door to Club Julian if she doesnt want to take them with her.
Hi all. just back from club juilan, had a great time so will leave a report asap, have only just managed to log on like all of us....Gavin
We have booked the Club Julian Apartments arriving 1st June for 2 weeks. Has anyone stayed in or near these apartments and are they situated in a busy part of Marmaris or close to shops/bars/restraunts etc.
