a bit late in the post regarding your first question, i.e. clothes for wife.
asked SWMBO who is also largish and she recommends that your wife gets her holiday clothes in the UK, so as to be sure she gets what she likes as there is not a lot of choice in larger sizes over there.
previous comments about the really cheap clothes in the markets are spot on, avoid the really cheap offers. the others that are a bit dearer are the same items that are imported into the UK and sold in the high street by several major names (at twice the price) .
I don't know if you have a shop similar to Matalan near you, but last year they were selling basic polo shirts at 3 for £10 and in Bodrum area we could get similar items at 5 for£10.
I don't know if you smoke but if you do and are offered Golden Virginia tobacco pouches in the markets, 5 for £10 or even 7 for £10, don't be tempted, it's nothing like any tobacco I have ever encountered!

hi,going near turgatreis in july,heard theres a good market there,are there many good shops too?Me and hubby are interested in getting t-shirts ,bags or jewellary,what sort of prices are we excpected to pay for these items like say designer t-shirts!!

This might not be of much help Cart, but my son bought one last year in Icmeler £30. He got it from a stall at the bottom of the canal, as he does all the latest models and we've been buying from him for years.
there are lot of jacob and co watches about depending on the quality they vary between 30-60 quid so they should not have any problem finding them in mose watch centres hand bag stall etc
I bought one in Marmaris last year and it was only a fiver!!!Its still going strong and when i went to Harrods this year the lady on the watch counter said to me..." i see you have fine taste in watches sir"!!!

I got a great "fake" Chloe bag in Fethye market for my daughter.
I got him down to £50, from £103.
It's a very good fake & as they are the "must haves" this year & a real one costs £600!! I think I got a good deal.

hi, it will be my first time to turkey in aug and i am so so excited,i am not gonna buy loads of clothes as i plan on buying it over there. i want some new trainers though,was gonna buy some in town yesterday but the ones i want are £80,do they sell them in the markets and is it worth waiting until we go? i dont wanna spend all that now and find they are loads cheaper over there.
Lisa you will be spoilt for choice. You will see trainers in every market. Don't forget to barter Please be aware that you are only allowed to bring so much out of Turkey Lisa. The best thing to do is, what ever you buy, take it out of the package and say you bought it from home or, the last time you visited Turkey. I maybe wrong but i'm sure you have an allowance to bring home, not sure what it is though. Happy hols. Anna xxx

it depends on how fussy you are. Obviously you will get a wider choice over here, but the ones they do have for sale in Turkey are much cheaper.

He's got loads of fake ladies Gucci watches, all styles, - I got a lovely blingy Gucci one there. His watches are good quality fakes too, they keep good time.
