Here's hoping the weather is better we are going on Sunday. I've tried all ways to see which restaurants are good this year and hardly any feed back, the restaurant club ect sticky bit at the top is useless, I have asked for a dedicated restaurant section but it seems to be under seeing about, too late for me this year, and if the weather isn't any better Tenerife will be out after 16 years.
TFS 1...and mine! :hyper.....
We were going 7th March to sign for the keys to our new apartment. We had the flights booked, hotel booked and furniture being delivered. We then received a phone call from our agent telling us that there was a problem with the habitation certificate and the release date has now been postponed indefinitely. We have now cancelled everything until we get a new date. DOH! I suppose I will now have to resort to watching the sunshine on the webcams. Good luck to all you lucky people heading off out there.
Cyberhiker,Hope everything gets sorted really soon
Thanks Fiona, enjoy the sun!
Hopefully,I will! Will certainly enjoy no matter what the weather does.
So sorry to read about yor cancelled flights and expectations.
Our habitation certificate also seems to be delayed for Las Chafiras. Did you find out if this is general or specific to your apartment complex?
Thank you.
To anyone who may know: how long is the holiday for Mardi-Gras... a week or a day? This could cause further delay at the ayuntamiento.

We don't really know what happened, one minute we had a date and started making plans, then the agent phoned and told us that there was no habitation certificate so the apartment couldn't be released. I have heard from someone else on the forum that there are people already moving into the complex so hopefully it won't be long before we get a new date but our agent can get nothing out of the developer.
Ange
That name is certainly familier especially with a sign off of 'Ange' could this be somebody I know???

Unfortunately, in Tenerife "global warming" equates to "global cooling" during winter months
I'm trying to get to grips with 'the Spanish way' but it's hard to understand why, when a complex is finished, that residents can't move in quickly. Health and Safety are of paramount importance but when there is so much mystery, secrecy and uncertainty from 'them what construct and certificate' one can't help wondering if something is wrong.... or a bureaucrat somewhere has all the documentation in his 'pending' file while he/she dons their costume for Mardi-Gras! Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!
Good luck anyway. Maybe we'll all be celebrating soon!

Oh! Margaretta and Cyberhiker,I envy you having got property on Tenerife. Hope everything works out soon. I'm always looking on the property abroad sites, from the ten bedroomed places (if I win the lottery ??) or the two bedroomed ones, which would do just fine just now! ...maybe one day....
It's been our dream since 1995 Fiona, and now it seems so close and yet so far with this setback. Everything up until this point has gone very smoothly, so we can't really complain. It's very frustrating but I'm sure it will all work out okay in the end. Just keep aiming towards your own dream, it all seemed an impossibility to me at one time too!
INVALID URL etc., chasing those dreams, working hard and hoping for the best. Good Luck with everything.
Hi again, Cyberhiker, yes it must be quite frustrating!... I will, more than likely, have to wait until the mortgage is paid off! Not before I'm 50. It seems like quite a way off But,I will keep looking on
Thanks Fiona. Enjoy your holiday, the weather's looking great today, it looks as though you may have timed it right.
