We got our visas back within ten days with no problems.
I have always sent mine and my husbands seperatly, but thanks to the forum will save myself a few bob and put them both in one envelope with one special delivery self addressed envelope inside (something like 8 quid saving......... thats at least 8 Kingfishers on the beach). Don't really know why i sent them seperatly before but have done so each year for past 5 Goa visits....... just assumed I had to!

Many thanks folks! :D

Sent two applications on Tuesday 7 March and received them back on Saturday 11 March. Very, very straightforward and very very quick!!!

It will be getting quick receiving visa's as its close to the end of the season.
They take a lot longer during the months of Dec- Feb

Got mine this morning took 7 days!!

Just a silly question, but you know that you have to send two passport size photos, I expected one of the photos to be on the Visa itself but neither photos are there, what are they for??? Just confused!

I think the indian embassy keep those photo's along with your visa application document.

Got my visas from Edinburgh last year with forms downloaded from http://www.hcilondon.net website with no problem, in fact they only took a couple of days. Having read a couple of the previous contributions could someone please clarify - I live in Manchester, can I still apply for my visas later this year at the Commission in Edinburgh & if each Commission now has its own visa application forms where do I download the forms to apply to Edinburgh/Birmingham. Thanking you in advance. :?: :?: :?:

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this one but someone in our house is getting twitchy.

We have 6 month visas which were issued in November 2005 for our trip to Goa last Christmas. They expire on 16th May 2006. Will we be able to use the same visa when we go to Kerala next week?

We return on 28th April so the visas don't expire until 2 weeks after our return.

Thanks folks. KP

PS - HT Mod, I would have posted this on the India forum but it's awfully quiet on there and didn't think I would get a response.

im not too sure, but on the visa form did you not state what parts of India you were visiting? it says multiple entries which means you can return more than once in the space of 6 months, so if you was going to Goa again then that would be fine. Im not sure about visiting another part of India though as on the visa application form you stated you were visiting Goa, thats all. or did you state Goa and Kerala?
My only advice is to send an email to the indian embassy and they'll respond within 24hours ( well they did with me )
sorry i couldnt be of any more help

You will be OK as long as you travel within the dates on your visa.
You inform imigration where you are staying on the landing card you are given on the plane.
Remeber that your passport must still have 6 months to run when you return home
Enjoy your trip
