Thanks m&n, we will definitely seek out Dixie's Diner. Must admit all of nature and animals fascinate me and I do love the lizards. My Maltese friend (lives in Birkirkara) used to think they were a pest but now because I get so excited when I see one, she kind of likes them now.

Hi, The Basilica of St Geoge just behind It-Tokk in Victora has to be one of the high lights of a visit to Gozo. Built in 1678 with a copy of Bernini's altar from St Peters in Rome and paintings by Mattia Preti's and Francesco Zahra.

For me........... Malta has got to be Valletta I never get bored walking round there especially the view from the Upper Barracca Gardens. I also love Pretty Bay despite the docks they are fab! We can spend all day watching those big tankers come in and out. I remember when there was only a a tiny little beach there. In Gozo it has to be Xlendi Bay totally gorgeous the water's cold though! Also the citadel in Victoria the view from up there is wonderfull.

Just like to say I have enjoyed your photo's....
I think the last photo is a view of Comino, taken from the road Mgarr to Qala.
But then again I could be competely wrong!!

100% right with your first guess - its taken from the Il Bukkett restaurant on that road (BTW - great views from that rstaurant, only OK food !)

We usually have morning coofee at that resaraunt mark. Its a good place to chill and relax in the morning sun. OOOOOOOh I can picture it now! (Charliegirl opens her eyes and finds that she is still at work in damp England!)

The picture shows Azure window, Inland sea and Fungus rock, I think it was taken from near the tower close to Ras il-Wardija Point.

Often wished I'd chosen a more apt name that reflects my love of the Maltese Islands. Don't recognise that last photo but my favourite beach is definitly Ramla on Gozo,

It must have been beginners luck, you are definately too good for me! I have not got a clue where the last photo was taken.
About the large tortoise, it was pointed out to me by a Gozitan who used to play on it as a boy. It is a large rock formation that can be seen on the road from Xlendi to Fontana on the right hand side, in the valley. If you look carefully you can even see it's eye.
My husband and I (sounds like the queen) better give a wave.....
First visited Gozo in May 2005, we are hoping to return again later this year.
Now to answer the subject of this topic, one of my favourite places is sitting on the deck of the Gozo Ferry.... I just love it, and I would be happy to go back & forth all day, knowing when I disembark I have all those lovely places to see on Gozo!

its on top of the hill opposite Ta Pinu Church - going up the hill are the 15 (?) stages of the cross, then on top is an amphitheatre, I guess was built for when the pope came to Ta Pinu 20 odd years ago - the hill would be a real struggle in August, unless its early or late in the day !
right, next one - its the sight of one of the best restaurants on Gozo !

I am no expert on Gozo but I think it is Mgarr. We went there once when we got lost on the way to Mgarr Harbour.

if you mean Mgarr Ix Xini (and your description of the road sounds right !), then you are right ! Mgarr is Maltese for harbour, Xini = slaves - its the harbour of the slaves, where the Turkish raiders took 90% of the Gozitan population in 1550 odd - they were loaded onto ships here.
