Put it in writing and send by Registered Post.

With all due respect to you and anyone else emails are not the answer. You need to prove that it has arrived and is being acted upon. Should you need to take legal action then it would be difficult to prove that they had recieved it.

We have problems with our own computers so why do we assume that others do not.

I cannot comment on how you stand with your claim, no doubt some other member may be able to help.

I don't think you will have any redress as I am sure it will be covered in the small print of your booking conditions.

However, why not give Ros Fernihough, Travel Law Solicitor a call on 01922 621114 - she will be able to advise you.

Hi fwh & Kath,

Thanks for your advice. I returned our tickets recorded delivery and yes, I should have thought to do the same with a letter of complaint.

Also, I should have read the small print, especially since they have given me notice of the cancellation. But it was not so much about the money, really more a matter of principle and the shoddy way they communicate with their customers.
I have decieded not to pursue the matter. But this was to be our fourth time of flying with them, so we shall vote with our feet and steer clear of Helios in the future.
