my husband and myself have been on holiday to sharm el sheikh in july this year, we stayed close to naama bay. The night life is good in fact we are going back in january. i would recomend that you try to get a hotel close to naama bay as we wouldn't use the taxis, they are old and battered whith 4 blown up tyres. the beer is as cheap as uk, and kfc, mcdonalds, and pizza hut, are much cheaper than uk in fact its the first holiday we have brought money back with us. if you like vodka and the like, i recomend you buy it at the duty free in the uk airport, as the local spirt is rotten we couldn't drink it. we bought 2 litre's each at manchester cost 30 pounds in total for 4 litres. you won't be disappointed on holiday here, the sun always shines , the people are lovely, bars dont shut till late, there is a bar called the cammel bar where you can watch the sport. have a gud one.

Im also looking at the nightlife in sharm as I go on the 7th October 2004 and I like dance Music.

Ive heard that there is a night called House Nation in the courtyard of the Sanafir Hotel will this still be on in October and is it easy to get to.

Also ive heard of a dance night at the Echo Temple.

Has anyone got any information on these events?

Hi,

I'm going to Sharm in just over a week    I can't wait! I'm staying at the Dreams Beach Resort with my boyfriend all inclusive.

Has anybody got any recommendations about places to go at night as I have been informed that the entertainment in our hotel is questionable!!

thank you very much

The general atmopshere in Naama Bay is buzzing and a great place to smoke a sheesha and watch the world go by. There are bright neon lights everywhere, and at the top end of King of Bahrain St, there is usually traditional music coming from one of the hotels on the hill that you can hear half way down the street - great to sit and listen to with a drink at Fawnes Cafe.

We saw one club called Pacha (yes I know!), next to Mashys Lebanese restaurant.

Hope this helps a bit.

How big is Pacha? is it a big club? Is there any other big clubs or is it mainly bars and pubs?

Don't get too excited about Pacha.

Its House on a thursday, a night called House Nation. Other than that it's cheesy commercial stuff the rest of the time, ,including fridays.

There are no clubs like you would find on the med.

In answer to the original question, if you were after a lads holiday drinking etc Sharm is nothing like Ibiza, Magaluf, Benidorm etc.

You won't find groups of girls etc, its mainly couples and families.

I wouldn't advise Sharm for a lads holiday, if you're all single anyway!

thats fotunate seeing im not a lad and im not single!!!! im going with my boyfriend, we were just wondering what the night life was like really. my friend went to nama bay in may- she said she went to the bar in Pacha but not the club so we were just curious as to what to expect really!!

Any particular pubs that are good, or any to avoid!?

We went to Sanafir on House Nation night, and although I'm not a huge fan of that particular music, I still liked the place and the atmosphere was great. Bus Stop is okay, my husband and I went there a couple of times. The atmosphere wasn't as friendly, not sure why, but the 'vibe' wasn't quite right.... I loved the Camel Bar, which is a pretty dishevelled place owned by a South African guy. It's just before you get to Sanafir, you'll see the sign and you go up some steps and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. We loved it.

Like i say, that was in response to the original question from dedication2majorca.

There is really only a handful of "bars" or clubs as we know it. There's plenty of sheesha bars where you can sit and watch the world go by outside, restaurants and shops.

Like has been said, the camel bar is pretty good, bus stop and also Little Buddha is cool.

I agree that its not "ibiza" in style or tone but me and my partner did think it a fair share of young groups of girls and lads, but rather than acting like a bunch of lowts on holiday they seemed to be enjoying the better quality of holiday but still having a laugh, thats what I noticed anyway.

If you go to the Bus Stop DO NOT go upstairs to buy your drinks. There are no signs but this is a "VIP" area (no different from downstairs) and the drinks are very overpriced as a guy we met out there found out! We brought our drinks downstairs and were able to take them upstairs on to the balcony over looking Pacha.

in response to your question about Pachas size helen it is absolutely huuuge!! Although ive never been to any of the clubs in the med, only ones in my county really so it might not be as big as it should be? But I thought it was big

I am going to sharm later this week and was wondering what were the good clubs to go to? No meat markets, just nice atmosphere and cool music and reasonable drinks etc?
Also, is there anywhere fairly specialist in regards to the music they play, or does everywhere pretty much play standard 'club classics'?

There are no "night clubs" as such in Sharm. There are numerous places to chill out, relax, watch the word go by, etc. but none of that Ibiza type nonsense. There is a certain establishment I haven't been to, the "Russian Pub" , largely due to my partner being Slovak but I am led to believe that is where the action is!!

We fly out on Sunday, I'll be looking for a challenge at the Kart track so if your game?

has anyone been while in Sharm?
Are they any good?
