I have just priced a Holiday on FC and then thinking it would be a bit cheaper on Eclipse went to their site and it was more than £200 dearer.
First Choice = £4442
Eclipse = £4657
personally unless you are desperate to book i would wait a while, prices are bound to come down once they have creamed the top off, e.g people who want to pay higher prices.
In my case, yes!
also we have secured 2 free child places with interconnecting rooms, which makes our holiday cheaper and easier.i check the prices regularly year round, and ive never found that my chosen accomadation becomes cheaper, always more expensive(2 adults 4kids),but im sure for 1 room it does.
I'll leave it now until we come back from GC in about 10 days, I found the Winter 06/07 prices dropped slightly at the end of November 05, about 3-4 weeks after they went on sale, so maybe the Summer 07 prices will follow the same pattern and I might save a little bit more - doesn't matter if I don't - it's still a good price for August
im sure some of you will know this already, but to those who dont, eclipse direct give a loyalty discount of £50 if you book 2 holidays in the same year with them,i have booked for oct 2007 port aventura in spain with them, and i was looking for a quiet week in july when my eldest finishes gcses(2007).i phoned them last night havig found a good hotel on the internet and asked if they could match the internet price and give low deposits, they could nearly match it except for £40,but when he checked my details i got the £50 off and a futher £15 off because we travelled with the last october so in fact undercut the internet price.i amm very happy ,but my husband is going crackers too late ive booked now,now to work out how im going to pay for it all mox
just checked.thomas cook holidays are now available for 2007 summer.
First choice matched an eclipse price for me today and saved me almost £800 pounds on another price i was given today on same holiday.
Airtours/My Travel is also on sale now too
as i posted last week telling you about why i book early etc,i have just checked the exact same holiday on the same site and the price has increased by nearly £1000, unbeleivable,i phoned eclipse to reconfirm the price that i had been quoted, and the origional price was correct,so potentialy, the seme sized family could be on the seame plane, same hotel just £1000 more. ps,this happene within 6 days mo pps.if you see your holiday at a price you are happy with book it soon
Hi! Same thing happened to us this year. Booked over a year in advance last year, for this July, within a couple of months the price had gone up over £600. Well chuffed
Hi, do you think it is advisable to book early for 2007 , as in now when holidays first on sale for the best price, ? and does anyone know which companies let you pay a low deposit just now ??? thanks
If you phone your local travel agent, they can advise who is doing what sort of deal at the moment.
i also got a price match off the internet web price. hope this helps
http://www.eclipsedirect.co.uk you can pay a £30 per person deposit but this only applies to telephone bookings, not internet bookings.
Pippy
If you book with Pippy
Well, that's me done!!! Ibiza here we come! (in 15 months anyway) Booked online with Thomsons in the end, a bit dearer than Eclipse, but the hotel is nearer the beach and the Thomsons superfamily facilities at the hotel completely outshine anything First Choice have to offer in their hotel nextdoor. I was a bit unsure about the extra cost at first, but it'll probably be our last big holiday all together, my son will be nearly 18 when we go away, and will probably want to take any future holidays "wiv der lads"
1 Holidays for this summer were around £500 cheaper in January 2006 rather than April 2005 and still the same choice.
2 Tour operators havent got their full selections available yet.
3 Deals are always better after the summer season, e.g November when bookings are down.
if you know where you want to go and they have extras that are limited i would book early if not thats a risk you take.
The sales assistant said that the Brochure prices in their dedicated Turkey 2007 brochure are 15% down on 2006 prices, before any add on travel agents discounts/free insurance deals etc etc. I've no way of verifying this but thought I would pass it on just incase it's of interest to anyone thinking of Turkey for next year.
