Lukebeck1, we didn't go all inclusive as we like to eat out. We're not the sort to lie around the pool all day so it suited us better. We did, however, eat in the buffet restaurant one night. While the food was very nice, we felt it was very overpriced at 20 euros a head, drinks extra, as you could get all you could eat buffets in Fuengirola from around six to ten euros. Depending on how long you're staying, if you decided to upgrade to all inclusive once you get there, it will cost 34 euros per person (adult) 20 euros (child) a day if you stay 11-14 days but less days than that you pay 40 euros a day. Also, if only some of the party want to go all inclusive and others don't, if they're sharing a room then, TOUGH, the upgrade applies to all! If you're someone who likes to eat and drink a lot then all inclusive would suit you but it certainly pays to book it in advance rather than when you get there. All inclusive has certain restrictions, i.e. The Village Cavern, an Irish Pub is open from 23.00 to 02.00 but the all inclusive is only until 24.00!!
Someone asked about the time the Buffet Restaurant closes. I brought the info sheet home and it says that La Perla - Main Buffet Restaurant is open from 07.30-10.30 for breakfast and Dinner is 18.30 - 21.30. All inclusive finishes at 12 noon on the day of departure (a bit of a bummer if you're on a late flight!)
By the way, the brochure says that there is underground parking which you have to ask about at Reception and they will tell you the prices. As my son had stayed there last year, we just drove down to the car park without seeing Reception, in fact, it was only half way through the week that I read that there was a charge for parking! When we checked out we weren't charged. There were lots of cars parked on the approach road to the Reception which meant that people had to either walk into Reception or through the side gate but if you park underground it's a short walk through a couple of doors to bring you to a lift, certainly saving a lot of time. There was always plenty of room to park and, of course, the car isn't like an oven like it would be when it's been left out in the sun all day.
