Hi Lisa
I hope they dont do that to us! We have had flight time changes but nothing too dramatic.
How many bridesmaids are you having? i am having 1 bridesmaid and 1 flowergirl. I am shopping to get her dress this weekend and have no idea what colour to go for. I've left it a bit late I know!

Hi Jo, we are getting married in the grounds of capo bay on 18th october. We decided to have our reception elsewhere, we have booked the diva restaurant in protaras. A friend of my auntie had their reception there last year and said it was great, could't do enough for them. Have a look at their web site looks good.

We're getting married at Grecian Park, Protaras in October (no way in June/July or August - heat exhaustion, even the Cypriots would advise against it!)

We're having a traditional Greek wedding (money dance etc etc) for 100 guests at the hotel (although they are saying we can't have a greek band so unless they let us, we may have to change venues!)

I've arranged everything myself as my in laws are Cypriot and not paid an operator.

I'm interested in what sort of receptions people have had or are having. I can't understand why we aren't allowed a Greek band in the hotel!! Has anyone else had/having this problem?

Thanks!

Hi Jo
I am having 3 bridesmaids who are wearing gold. I am also having 3 flower girls who are wearing ivory. I just didn't want to leave any of the children out. I have also booked the horse and carriage which I am looking forward to. Did you just decide about the bridesmaid and flower girl? Or have you just not had a chance to get their dress yet? What color do you have in mind? Are you getting excited? Have you arranged everything else?

Hi, we are thinking of marrying in paralimni town hall in august 2007 and would really appreciate any opinions from anyone who has married there. There are 50+ guests so we need quite a large reception place that is in protaras that does lovely mezes and caters for children. Any suggestions??

Due to the hell  of organising a wedding in the UK i went to look at prices for getting married abroad and just booked it, it was that easy to sort out my wedding, i feel like the world has been lifted off my shoulders!

Now all the friends and family i really want to come are coming and those who were just along for the free ride (or food & drink) arent coming as it is no longer free!!!

Only thing to sort out is my photographer and reception.

We are staying at the Hotel Avanti in Paphos. I've always liked the idea of hiring a boat and having the reception on that, has anyone done this, otherwise anyone got an excellent recommendations in Paphos, there will be about 50 guests.

For all of yous using wedding planners in Cyprus - can you let me know what your experiences are of them.

In particular, does all wedding planners require you to book ALL your wedding requirements through them, ie the car, the flowers, the reception etc? Is it normal for wedding planners to have terms in the contract that if you dont do this they will cancel your wedding and keep all the money that you have paid to them...??

Hi there ,salenadingwall, mine isn't a wedding planner as such they hold wedding receptions and have contacts for everything else cake car etc. everything is optional if you want to have just a meal then you can do that its entirely up to you , there are some bits I am doing when I am getting out there like a photographer just so I can get the best price . When are you getting married? Good luck :o :D Jo Taylor

I would book it yourself - it's very easy to do without a wedding company or co-ordinator. You can find better deals as well if you avoid the companies as you are dealing with them direct.

I think we probably get slightly preferential treatment at our hotel as I'm marrying a Cypriot (so it's a big fat greek wedding!) as I know some of the hotels have several weddings one after the other.
