                Hi
There are many nice restaurants in Ixia serving lovely greek food.I am sure you will not be disappointed!
I would just like to mention the Mexican which is just on the main road out of Ixia (other end fron Rhodes town) next to 2 biggish supermarkets. It was fabulous and always full of locals!!!
Much as we love Greek food ,sometimes you fancy a change!!
Also the Italian (Napoli I think) is worth a visit.

                Hi,
We were in Ixia last October ,at that time I was suffering from a badly sprained ankle so our activities were restricted somewhat!
We visited Rhodes town a lot to wander (hobble) round the old town which is lovely with narrow cobbled streets full of shops!!! Watch out for expensive restaurants in the old town!
There isn't much to do in Ixia itself,it is spread along a main road, but there is another bit (I can't remember what its called) which is along past the Mexican and down to the right at the traffic lights with more restaurants and shops.
We also drove to Lindos and Pefkos to check them out!!
Where are you staying in Ixia?
In august you will be glad of the breeze (hopefully)

                Hi
I think the area Dotchas is talking about is Trianda, it's just south of Ixia and walking distance if you enjoy a good walk.
I still visit Vrachos (i think that's what it's called) when i'm in that area. It's down the small road leading towards the beachfront hotels, walk on past Atlantica Princess and you'll see it on the right, an old windmill. Foods always very good and it's right by the beach so you can hear the waves crashing as you dine.

                Partyanne,
We visit Pine Trees Just about every year, i guarantee you will not be disappointed, George & Mary are the owners and they are in their 30's and they will do everything they can to make sure you enjoy your stay.
If you would like, i will give you plenty of info on the resort and hotel, mail me at kapillan@hotmail.co.uk
The hotel is situated 500m up a road branching off the main road from the airport to rhodes town,
surrounded in beautiful greenery it has 2 stories of 10 apts each, a large, well kept pool is the main feature of this hotel with a pool side bar serving food / cold drinks / ice creams all day and the usual drinks at night until you go to bed,
george is a self confessed night owl and is regulary seen watering plants and tending the pool at 4am. He will sit and chat with everyone until the last man is standing (usually george who doesnt drink!!)
Rhodes town is 10min away in a taxi and is approx 7Eur
Trianda is a bit closer 6min and approx 5Eur but easily walkable
On the main road at the bottom of the hill are a number of very nice restaurants and if you walk another 5 mins towards ixia (10 min total walk frrom hotel) you will find a whole host of great eateries (Try Coconut or any of the 2 Chinese Restaurants!)
Of course, as mentioned there is the mexican restaurant, but check during the daytime when it opens as the owners kind of like a day or two off and are sporadic with opening hours (usually doesn't open until 9:30pm or so)
As a word of advice, don't eat in rhodes town unless you are planning to treat yourself, it can be very expensive and there are sometimes charges included that you did not notice! this only applies to the old town, the cabaret / fish restaurant at the harbour on the other hand is superb (you will hear the singing when you get out of your taxi at mandraki harbour!)
Have a great time at Pine Trees, we are not going this year because my wife is due in August

Please tell george and mary that Craig & Vicky say hello frfom Glasgow.... Mary will spend some time gushing how much she and vicky are friends... oh.... and look out for their son, he's a handsome lad who likes to play practical jokes, he is just turning 16 so go easy on him..
Kind Regards
Craig & Vicky Riddoch

Prepare for the mossies. They are in a bad mood this year - and must be alcoholics, the way they chewed at me. My wife had to by a new pair of sandals for night as she couldn't get any other shoes on, the bites were so bad. I'm not trying to dampen it, just save your skin. It won't stop me from going back. Luv it.

If you're into top class Greek food go to 'Le Gourmet' :up on eof the small streets from the main road.
The BEST Greek food I've ever had. A husband & wife team, slow civilised service but VERY quiet. Not suitable if you like a lively venue. Strictly for 'foodies'.

TM, we had a great meal in Rhodes near the back of the Casino. Expensive but very nice. Damned if I can remember the name of it now.
Hellenikos I think it's called. Mezes to die for but a lot dearer than anywhere in Ixia.
