Hi wgcstar,
Had my reception at sunsetbeach last june, you will have a great time, the staff and owner at the sunsetbeach are fantastic,
gail..................
I haven't been on this site for a while so i don't know if you have had all your questions answered already but i have just been looking through and saw your topic about the Grecian Sands Chapel. I got married on the 6th September at the Grecian Sands chapel and had my reception on the Pavillion at the back of the Grecian Sands Hotel so if you have any questions you want to ask i would love to help. (I booked my wedding/holiday through Thomas Cook).
I know whats its like leading up to the wedding with so many questions going round your mind so please don't hesitate to ask me anything.
I also have my photos online if you want to have a look please feel free: http://groups.msn.com/SimonKimsCyprusWedding/shoebox.msnw.

This is my first time on this website and wondered whether anyone could give me some advise, pictures and opinions.
We intend to get married at the Nissi beach resort in Ayia Napa next Sept has anyone got any pictures and opinions of the hotel, we're still unsure where to have the reception and what kind of food to have so any opinions or photos would be good of the venues at the hotel or else where as they seem to be very rare.
Also how hot is the weather at this time of year? Is it bareable?
Also has anyine dealt with Medweds Ltd so far they seem very professional but if anyone has any opinions that would be good?
Any other relevant advice/photos would be appreiciated.
Thanks
I can't comment on any of your other questions but i can tell you about the weather, i got married on the 6th September 05 and the temperture was 37 and that was at 5pm. It was very hot but it was bearable. I had a big wedding dress and my husband wore a full suit with jacket and we were both ok.
Take care
Kim
Hi Dave 12, We have just booked our wedding at the Nissi Beach for August next year. if you have a look on their website, it gives you contact information to send away for brochure which comes with a DVD. we actually got this after we had already booked it, but it just helps confirm that you are making a great choice. the gazebo looks fantastic!! can't wait to go! we are thinking about having our reception in the hotel, as it all looks great. i could do you a copy of the brochure / DVD if you like?
so many questions going round my head, and only 2 months to go now (july 12th).
how did you get your dress over there?
did you have a meeting with the vicar before hand?
could you take your own readings?
did you have a run thur of the service before hand?
what are the cake and flowers like?
were there many weddings in the hotel when you stayed there?
what are the thomas cook reps like?
what time was your wedding?
how many people did the chaple hold?
sorry to ask all these questions, but you have been there and out of everyone you will know the answers.
thanks

We like many others on here are looking to get married in 2008 at the Nissi Beach hotel . I note some of you have already booked for 2007 . If we are looking at June /July 2008 , what is the earliest do you think that we will be able to start booking things , or how early do you recommend in order to make sure we get dates etc that we want .
Many thanks for any help
regards furball
Hi everyone (love your photos Cassie) just wondering if anyone knows what ayia napa monastery is like photos look lovely but its hard to know if it is till you see it yourself. Thinking of having reception at Capo Bay and then sunset cruise any help, suggestions or opinions would be really appreciated
Hi Jenny1980, thanks for the offer of the DVD and brochure but i already have ÃÂÂÂt, it looks really nice. I am really after the reception venue pictures at the hotel which i can't seem to get anywhere!! Although what i've read so far sounds good! Have you managed to get any pic's of the venues also are you considering anywhere else outside the hotel for your reception? Are you bookng everything through a wedding organiser or are you doing it yourself?
Looking for some help, im getting married june 2007 and didnt want the usual transport of limo, merc or horse & carriage. Does anyone know if you can hire vintage cars in the nissi beach, ayia napa or protaras area? Ive also seen on a website a White Beetle which looks fun but cannot seem to find where i would book them. Any help would be most appreciated.

The Alexander the Great is our favourite Hotel. Excellant position with loads of good resturants within walking distance. Great sea views over the harbour, friendly staff and a fairly unique sunbed reservation system that eliminates the need to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towels on a sunbed.
Yeroskippou weddings are held outdoors in a lovely setting.

Have a Great One
*I put my wedding dress in a hard suitcase and just checked it in on the plane, it was fine when i got to Cyprus, didn't even need ironing.
* We had a meeting with the vicar first then had a rehersal the day before the wedding.
* We didn't take any readings with us, the vicar gave us a book and we chose one out of there not sure if you can take your own.
* The cake they supplied for us was so nice, it looked nice and tasted so lush. I took my own silk flowers with me so i can't comment on their flowers
* There is usually a wedding everyday in the Grecian hotels only because they do them so well.
* The Thomas Cook rep we had looking after our wedding (Georgina) was brilliant. We couldn't fault her at all.
* We had our wedding at 5pm
* We had 19 people at ours and that was a nice number in the chapel.
It is fairly small but can hold 26.
Feel free to ask anything else.
Kim
Got a new hard suitcase the other day and the wedding shop where I am getting my dress from said that they will pack my dress for me. Glad the rep was good. Our wedding at the mo is penciled in for 5pm, but as you know this is not confirmed till we get there. Was a it a bit cooler at that time of the afternoon?
Thanks again

I bet your so excited?
I actually went to the London Wedding Show and met the manager of the Sands hotel a few months before my wedding so i got to confirm the ceremony time with him before we went.
It was still hot when we got married at 5pm (about 37, I think) but i didn't really notice it, even though i had a big dress.
I think you get used to the heat after about a week so if your there a few days before the wedding you will be used to it too.
Have you got a big dress?
Take care,
Kim
Have just e mailed the hotel again to confirm our numbers and to keep them up dated.
