I am travelling in 6 weeks to stalis and because it was a late deal the travel agent has reduced the luggage allowance to 15kg each and 5 kg hand luggage. i was wondering wether the companies at the air port are really hot on allowance because last year in the algarve flying with first choice they totally stung me and my partner for luggage allowance which was 20 kg ( i think they had me over as we were ok going out but got stung on the way back without anything extra really).
has anyone had an experience of this at crete especially with Thomas Cook.
it is so a easy way for the tour companies to make an easy buck, imagine going through after getting weighed then buying a load of duty free that doesnt get weighed??? whats the sense in that
Rick.
With profits taking a battering because of the competitiveness of the industry, charging on excess luggage is an easy way of making a little more money. IMHE in the last couple of years the airlines have been far stricter on excess baggage rules than they used to be. I personally wouldn't risk it.
With all the toilet stuff and clothes for 2 weeks have never been over 20kg always about 17 etc but on way home with pressies fags etc all adds up will just have to be careful robbing gits they are. you just dont need the worry of having enopugh money for the way home incase you are over i find it rediculous!!!
