Hi guys,
Fly out to Torre on Thursday for my first time in this part of Spain. Will be staying at El Tiburon in La Carihuela which sounds like a great little hotel.
What's the latest places to eat and drink ie, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English bars? Also enjoy good English grub.
Any suggestions kindly accepted.
Will have wife and 13yr old daughter with me so any nice pubs to spend an evening in? We prefer lively, but not too ott.
I'll probably write their names down before I go.

Hi Steve. Heading right from El Tiburon looking to sea, a 12-minute walk will take you to the Dark Side of the Moon Restaurant in Montemar (not quite beachside, but still unobstructed views to the Med). Strange choice of name, I know, but the food at lunchtime is unbeatable, IMHO, if it is good-quality English fare you are looking for.
Huge portions, served up by a cheery Scots lass, although the owner and chef is English. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I`ve tried to find rooms for Febuary 2007 at the El Tiburon but no one has them on their systems yet. I`ve had a look at their website and theres no prices on there yet. Begining to wonder if there goning to be shut at this time of year.
I`ve tried Wintersunshine, Alpharooms and Hotel connect.
Please ignore the above as I have just had an email from the hotel saying they won`t be open in Febuary and don`t reopen until May what a shame!

Please can anyone tell me whether this accommodation has self catering facilities in rooms as I believe they only offer bed and breakfast. 
Also, they are closed at the moment. Is this for refurbishment??

Hi Carol, I think all the rooms are b/b basis. I think it's closed until next month - probably seasonal, just booked 2 lots of workmates to go in Sept and Oct, definitely value for money but lots of s/c accommodation round about.
I emailed them last year to book for Febuary this year. They replied saying that they were shut for some winter months and reopening in May.

Just booked again for a week in October, been twice before a few years ago.It's a nice clean hotel with a very good breakfast and in a good location. The bar was lively last thing at night too - we think it's good value for money and paid £159 for 2 for 1 week B&B. There's loads of bars and restaurants all round it and good shopping - anything else - just ask.
There's good prices on travelres & travelrepublic for this accommodation, even during school holidays. I'm one of Eifion's group going on Good Friday. Just a couple of questions - Roughly how much is a taxi from the airport to Toremolinos?. How far time wise is Gibraltar from here and has anyone done this trip independantly. I've seen the trip in the brochures so I'm presuming its not too far.
It's a couple of years since we were there but think it was about a tenner. Tony Adams will probably know about taxi and Gib trip. Cheers
