We were there end of September 2005 and the daytime midweek noise was pretty bad.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any building work going on next to this hotel?
Some but nothing I think will bother you, mostly villas between the hotel and the plaza in Coral Bay (shop's, bar's)..I am looking at them right now!

This was taken three weeks ago from the roof of the Ascos.
It looks as though it won't be finished until late this year but I wouldn't worry too much, the noisy work is more or less over so it won't intrude on your holiday unless you're on that side of the hotel (dust problems).
A tip would be to pay for the pool/garden view just in case. Enjoy!!!

Can you help? The travel agaent has just phoned to let us know there is ongoing work next door. Will it affect us or should we move. We are going out to get married and there is quite a party of us. We only paid the rest of the money on the 26th.

The next three weeks there will be little building work anywhere on Cyprus...annual holiday for the building trade, as weather condition make building neigh impossible...

can anyone tell me what the weather is like in april? is the pool warm?
Well to the best of my knowledge, it is the end of our spring here then and the beginning of another hot summer ahead, but summer real time does not start until mid May or there abouts, it is a favourite month for many ex-pats here as the weather is tempid and not fierce heat that comes in June, July, August and even now, although we have a slight change today it is still very warm but cooler thankfully than of late.
So it can't be guaranteed perfect if your thing is beaches, leave it for later in May, but for sure it will be light years better than the UK, you may get a member now tell you it was ok when they were here in April, but I can tell you it is not guaranteed, but good all the same..

October is very much like today, partially cloudy at times with bright sunny days but cooler at nights, it can also be thundery with heavy rain, but this is not always the case..mix and match 25 28 C 20 C at nights..
Lookin to book up to go to this hotel end of August, wondering if the advertised building work is complete or nearly complete. Thanks

There was some building on one side of the hotel last year although this must be just about finished by now. The
There is an area at the front of the Ascos which was being made ready for some more properties but this wouldn't be noticeable from the hotel itself.

I was at the Ascos in June last year when they were still building and I must say that it wasn't really noticeable then.
I've now heard from a local source (about 300 yards away!) that the building is all but complete, with most of the properties sold.
There will be a little bit of ongoing work but this will be internal only and is planned to be finished in May anyway.
I'll be there myself in seven weeks and it certainly hasn't put me off.
