I actually did all my communications by email as I get receipts.
I wrote to First Choice customer services and whilst I have always been treated well, the response was not what I wanted to hear, so I rewrote the complaint quoting the response and why it didn't coincide with my complaint etc.

I then heard nothing until I emailed them saying that it had been rather a long time was there a problem with my initial contact.

I then received further communications taking the matter further along hopefully soon to a conclusion.

Not sure how far you are from the airport but we found that the local "airport services" were very competitive and were not to fussy about times so it may be worth checking that out. Phone a few.
We had to get an 8 seater and all the luggage. About 140 miles to the airport and I think it was at most about £150 each way and they were waiting for us when we arrived. they even kept the baby seat while we were on holiday. Mind you we don't have public transport down here.

Have they given you the option to cancel and rebook something else?

I can understand your concern and do have sympathy.

Whilst you may have emailed them you are running into the same problem that others do. It seems to be common practice now for people to rely on email. This means they are getting thousands every day.

Consider that if for some reason they have a problem with the server - as with HT over the last 24 hours then they are going to have a backlog. This will delay things.

I would suggest that you also follow up by registered post. It can be tracked, so you have no worry of it being lost in the system.

Not defending the TO but these things do happen.

Your other problem is again something that many people are having. Book one year for the next and flight times that were once attractive no longer are.

Hope you are able to resolve it soon

They should have at least offered you the option to cancel your holiday re the building work.

Very annoying, especially when you book so far in advance, but the small print covers it in that flight times are always advisory and not mandatory until you actually get the tickets...This is one condition that they should be forced to bring to travellers attention but they dont...Good luck

First Choice changed our flight times to eygpt by only 2 hours!! 5 weeks ago(we are going in july) but gave us the option to ammend the holiday as a result we are flying out 3 days later to a different hotel(same star rating) and today received a Cheque for £516 due to lower cost. So we just booked with eclipse for Dominican Republic Summer 2007 and already paid a well over a third of the holiday with this money. :D

Didn't First choice give you this option (we could of even changed the country we going to)though I appreciate what with children and work it can't be feasable for everyone

first choice changed our flights from cardiff to bristol also form sunday to maonday we were offered a full refund or we could change our holiday we were happy with where we were going so accepted the bristol flight however the price on the ibternet was a lot cheaper tan we had paid so they took the differenc off our balance this more than covers the cost of getting to bristol
