It is all built and ready so I am sure you will have a great time.
Just over two weeks and counting - can't wait based on the reviews given so far!
Will let you know how we get on.
Is the ice cream safe to eat? It's made with water so was just wondering if this was bottled or tap water?
Are the restaurants overly air conditioned? I get really cold in some restaurants when they have strong air con and need to know whether to pack a cardigan?!
I get the feeling that this may be your first trip to Turkey?? The situation there, is no worse than any other European destination with regards to water. It is alway wise to be cautious about water in any country. What you have to remember is that resorts rely very heavily on tourism, so they would not do anything to make people ill. They have their reputation to think about.
I was most pleasantly surprised for example, on how very clean the toilets and washrooms, were in various restaurants and bars. I personally think that Turkey is really trying to get and keep tourists, (going back year after year). Whilst some other countries in the Med have had mass tourism for so long, that they have become complacent, with the facilities they offer.
I have lost count of the times, (in Spain) when I have entered the "Ladies" only to be confronted with a piece of string instead of a proper loo flush, a lack of loo roll, soap and hand towels.
I am sure you will have a great time. Take along some Loperamide (much cheaper than Imodium) just to be on the safe side.
I will remember to be cautious out there but as you say - they wouldn't do anything that may harm the guests / tourists.
Can anyone answer my quesiton about the air con in restaurants in the palace? I'm not planning on taking any cardigans / jackets so don't want to be freezing in the restaurants!
ever I did not need my cardigan (I am cold always). But I still took a couple (just in case!! lol). I used one on the flight home.
Lorraine
We stayed in the resort of Olu Deniz and ate out in lots of local restaurants. They were mostly small restaurants and open sided. It was very hot at night. For the first time Lorraine
Thanks ippwrth - i'll take a couple of cardigan's JUST in case!
The A/C is not that strong and some resturants are on the outside and it is very hot at night
Can anyone who has been this year tell me if the palm trees have started to open up yet please ?
Yes Alex they have, although they are not fully opened but I'd say around half way.
Alex just noticed you have change to PP from KABC when are you going.
The weather was brilliant the whole 2 weeks although maybe a little too hot at times.
We done a few trips, went to Marmaris which was ok but we were hassled too much for my liking.
Went on the all inclusive gulet cruise which was lovely, done the jeep safari which was a fab day out but never been so dirty in all my life! and also done the mud baths which was a good day out.
My boys aged 12 and 7 loved the soccer school cos David Howells the ex spurs player was visiting for a week and helped with the training so that made the spurs fans week.
Enjoyed the food couldnt fault it really, went to the Asian wher the food was lovely even for the 7 year old and the Italian which was good too although at both restaurnts the service is very slow.
We bowled or played pool quite a few nights too.
A tip if you want sunbeds with matresses is to get up and stay with your beds at about 7am otherwise you don't stand a chance, the staff were removing towels before 9 if you left them.
Off to do mountains of washing! Please ask me anything you need to know and I will reply best I can, will post a full review later in the week.
a question for those who went last year and have allready been this year . are the turkish entertainment crew still there and any other turkish staff , and are the english couple still singing at the pool bar in the evenings ??????????????????
This is our 3rd attempt at booking The Pegasus.
First time we cancelled after seeing the Holidays from Hell program. We rebooked a second time for May this year but changed because they decided they wern't going to open The Tropical until July (had a fantasic time in Lanzarote holiday village instead) so hopefully third time lucky
I think we'll be OK now because the reviews coming in are really good.
When do you go ?
We are also staying at the tropical, on 16/9/06 for 1 week, thats if its still open!!!!
It was great.
The room was lovely and had plenty of room for the 3 of us.
The pools were fantastic - so warm - like getting into a bath.
Wavelength club - our 10 year old daughter loved it - so much for her to do.
Food - plenty of choice but (and this is one of our only complaints) it was nearly always cold. During the day food at the pool bars and beach bar was great. We went to the Asian and Italian restaurants which were both very slow. We didn't like the Asian but loved the Italian.
Weather - HOT HOT HOT. Some days it was too hot. We met people who had a thermometre with them and one day it was 55 C. Be careful even when it is windy you still burn.
Sarigerme - We went into town one night to eat and had a lovely meal in the Paradise. We then went and found guidemustafa who was lovely and very friendly. We didn't actually book any trips with him because during our second week all 7 of us took it in turns to have upset stomachs (not enough to spoil the holiday though). I did talk to a few different people who had been on trips with him and they were all full of praise.
Evening entertainment - They were really good, hard working and friendly.
My 3 year old niece has fallen in love with Dan.
Mossies - We were ok but my sister got eaten alive and here leg swelled up to about 3 times its normal size!
Chicken pox is still doing the rounds.
To sum it up we all had a great two weeks there was loads to do night and day. Our only two complaints about the whole holiday were the food temperature and it really is isolated. We missed not being able to go for walks in the evening.
To all the kids who have got or had chicken pox I can only appologise, Millie my 9 year old seems to have set that one off, but dont be mad bless her she had a bad four days herself.
To everyone still to go youll love it. Have fun and enjoy.
Debbie x
And to add to the Mcs I dont think finding Dan cute is reserved for three year olds im 36 and I thought he was lush.
also are the 2 cocktail waiter still working on the pool bar at night ? one of the is called matine , wife wants to know if he is still there as she had the hots for him
is there plenty of sun umbrellas, also did someone say that there is a nice breeze in july/aug and if so is this everyday?
