My old man (a meteorologist by trade) always advised me to get my information from the Meteorological Office of the country concerned (especially as so many other sources seem to vary so much - travel brochures being a classic example).

There are some useful climatological tables for various regions on the Cyprus Meterological Service website

Lanarka

Pafos

Athalassa near Nicosia

And from reading the website it looks like Cyprus is getting even hotter due to global warming..as if 40 odd degrees was not hot enough.

Well again it has not been 40c this year or for some years in Pafos, tonight in fact it is too cool to sit outside, I have moved indoors, otherwise you would never get me doing this at this time of night, the forecast above in my post is spot on at the moment, it is cooler in Pafos than the UK today, of course I don't think 26c is bad, in fact it is comfortable to sleep at nights and I would think most tourist who lay on the beach all day today appreciated the fact they could stay laying out in mid day temp's..
Earlier this week it did get very warm here in Pafos locally it was recorded as high as 31c far too warm for most of us on the island, I also registered the same readings taken in a sheltered part of our house that never sees the sun, and well away from walls and ceilings, it is the only accurate way to do this, but I guess it is a good story to get home and tell em all how hot it was here, July & August, now this is time to get off Cyprus if possible, horrible hot and worst is the humidity, no good for beast or holiday maker..in my opinion..slip slap...

been looking into the links etc and different sites i do use wunderground as it is mainly very accurate

i am going to napa which from looking on net and holidaying is generally hotter than pahos because pahos is in the very south of the island

the forcast for larnaca on wunderground for next week is averaging around the 30 mark which is great hope it stays like that

i have been hearing report though that its is unusually cloudy for this time of year is this the case?

Reeves whilst it is true that the east of the island has slightly higher temps than the west in summer (now) you would be hard pressed to tell the difference, Nicosia is another set of temps altogether because of it's inland position and it's high building density.
Pafos or the western side of CY is more inclement and nicer regarding weather, but again it is only marginal and certainly not the ten degrees cooler as posted elsewhere, winters also are slightly dryer here and strangely warmer (at times).

Today looks like being another great day here, clear sunny and around 28c, so they tell us..looks like you will be having the same in the UK..enjoy it while you can :?

and a p.s don't belive all you read, it is not cloudy...well not that cloudy..see webcam from my house, the odd cloud is appreciated...

....and therefore don't need to drink much water. :D

You do sweat, (albeit not as much in dry heat as in wet [humid] heat) it evaporates so quickly you don't notice it so much. See here.
And you DO need to drink plenty of water!
