We stayed in a nice one on the southern shores of Lake Annecy, but it was many years ago and its not the site I'm particularly recommending but Annecy itself. It was beautiful, and well situated to make visits to interesting places.

We also stayed in one near Briancon in Serre Chevalier and again the location was excellent.
