Goodbye Kos hello turkey
hi, just discovered this forum, had lots of tips already, was watching a video of the sunbeds at PP/PT at 7am on the photo gallery , is it as bad as it looks? how early do i have to nudge my husband to get up and get a bed?????
Hi. anyone that has been to PP. orPT. could you please tell me if there is anything wrong with the beach cos by the look of the photos, there is no-one on it.
Bailey, the beach is not owned by the palace or tropical and is protected because of the turtles. What you have is a very natural beach and from what I have read, shelves out in to the sea so is best to be avioded by kids and poor swimmers.
Serigerme apparently has a much better beach where it is safe for paddling and you also get the benefit of some sort of Zoo or nature reserve. I did read that someone took a walk along the beach and then around the reserve and found a load of turtles doing whatever turtles do?

Claire, could you copy a link please as I can't find it.
Can anybody tell me how deep the PP's pools start from? Also how much are the Turkish Bath's in the hotel? Does the hotel still have the beach parties and are these any good?
I've just booked for next June and already can't wait!

If you go into main Turkey forum then there i sa link to pegasus photos, there is about 350 photos. Turkish baths cost about £8, according to fc, will totally help the tan out!!
I'd had a look at the photos and couldn't determine how deep the pool shallow ends were. We were at the Holiday Village in Majorca in May and the pool was too deep for my 4 year old - the baby pool was too busy and I was just hoping that the PP's pool started from very shallow and gradually got deeper.
I've had a turkish bath before and it was fab so on our first couple of days I'm going to definately have one!!

They don't have beach parties anymore because of the turtles so the rep told me anyway.
The beach isnt great its got horrible sand and just a few sunbeds in a cluster by the sea, its not ideal for kids the sea either it dips too quickly.
There are also a lot of bushes and prickly plants growing out of the sand, but when we were there 5 weeks ago we didnt even really miss not having a beach at all.

sqiggle - the main pool starts very shallow and gradually gets to 140cm so the shallow bit is really good for kids, I have been to the Viva too and that kids pool was ridculous anyway there are 2 kids pools at the PP and If i remember rightly they are both 40cm so very shallow and just right for a 4 year old, one of them has slides too.
I presumed the pools were OK because I've not seen any of the reviews moaning about the pool depth.
Just one more thing, did you prefer the PP to the Viva- we were contemplating booking again but the pool situation was the only thing we had to complain about - my 4 year old wouldn't move from the disabled ramp all holiday!!

hi cleeder, can i just ask how hot it was when you were there and was there a breeze, also did you manage to get a parasol?
squiggle, I preferred the pegasos to the viva although the location of the viva was a lot better than the pp, if you put the pp in vivas location then perfect holiday I think.
I got back on Monday from a 2 week stay at the palace and had a great time!
No complaints about the hotel. We had one small problem to start with and that was that they allocated a smoking room which stunk so we asked to change and after a little while they changed us.
The pools are fantastic and there is plenty of food choice morning / lunchtime and evening. We went to the italian and bombay restaurant once and the service was very slow (wasn't even busy) and the food wasn't fantastic but i'm glad we tried it.
Did the jeep safari trip (meet a family of 4 from on here - kids were called amy and dan) which was great, and two shopping trips which were a lot of fun with all the haggling!
We booked through Sarigerme Tours as First Choice were so expensive. Met Mustafa and his colleague Eyub came with us on his trips who was great.
The only annoying thing was the sunbed situaiton! Matresses were gone every morning and the sunbeds are v uncomfortable without matresses!!! Parasols were never available either - some took them to their rooms every night! We also had a ground floor room (tiled floor) and it was SO noisy every night - i didn't have one night of sleep where i wasn't awoken by noisy kids and their parents! Very inconsiderate esp on the parents part who obviously have no control over their kiddies...
Shops in the hotel are very pricy so i'd advised booking a shopping trip or going to Sarigerme market on Sundays where you get some great bargains. The market holders are quite pushy though and i had to put up with shouts of 'blondie, barbie or J-Lo'!!!
I sprayed mossie repellent every night and didn't get bitten thankfully. My brother did though and his foot swelled up a lot even though he had repellant on!
Please ask if you have any questions!
Can u get how many drinks u like are are you restricted.
in the photo galleries, under turkey photo album, bottom of page 2 is pegasos palace hotel album, within that its on page 8.
Claire
HiHi Krazy Kaz, my and my family are going to PT on the 24th, We haven't had any vaccinations as the doctor said that they were not neccasary.
samanth j if your looking for the video it is on page 8 of pp photo galleres. click on the camera logo then it will down load . hope that helps
Hi bec_murphy 1984, did the FC reps try to do anything about people taking the sun parasols? I am a bit concerned about that because with the children you need to be able to get them out of the sun. Did people complain about it when you were there?
