this thread is for the KOS Aqua Club we have closed the KABC thread
If you read the previous post in this thread you would have realised this is the name it is being sold under and which booking agents are handling it

At the moment there are no tour ops selling the kos aqua club for next year because of firstchoice but now that they have stated that they will not be selling it no one knows who will get the contract and selling holidays there. This is all i want to know so i can book for next year.

Interesting to hear that First Choice are saying that they will not use it next year either. On that basis I think it is highly unlikley that another tour operator will be allowed to use it.

The reason being that while the resort has been built by a private Greek Developer it would normally do so using funding from the tour operator they have contracted to in the form of loans.

On that basis First Choice would have exclusivity on the property unless the developer was going to pay back any loans given by the tour operator.

Whilst the local operator probably has the option to rent the property privately if FC decline to use it they certainly wouldn't be able to use a competing tour operator.

I get the impression that the 2007 delay will probably be related to the upcoming legal action between the developer and FC.

I am starting to get the impression that perhaps First Choice have shelved the "Aqua Beach Club" concept entirely due to the issues involved with the (non) opening the first 3 this year, this is certainly true in Corfu where they have plans to build a different, smaller scale property.

As such, unless First Choice change their mind, I think that Kos Aqua Club Hotel (as it is now known) will probably only be available from the same kind of sources as it is this year, without any tour operator involvement.

I spoke to the hotel direct regarding making a booking for next year but they would not take the booking as they didnt know which tour operator would be contracted to sell it and whether it will be a full or partial contract of the property.
Firstchoice are not selling holidays this summer or next and the guy that i spoke to at firstchoice said that he wasnt sure which tour op will be selling it. Someone will be selling hols at kos aqua club for next year we will just have to wait and see who it is.

My family were due to go to KABC as it was then called and was cancelled on the 3rd July before flying out on the 5th July. We had a horrible replacement holiday and it did not meet our expectations as we were one of five familys who were english in the whole hotel. We are now going to Kos beach club on saturday and cant wait. The official website of the hotel is http://www.nostalgia.gr/hotels-aquabeach.html and it looks amazing if not empty!!! I think everyone whos holiday was cancelled has a right to be angry. I will personally take photos and reviews and post them in a weeks time as I think everyone has a right to know what is going on. I cant wait for Saturday as the hotel and the pools look amazing and I have yet to see a hotel advertised with equal pool facilities.

Hello all. First off this site has been invaluable to us, thanks for all your posts and information regarding KBC.

My wife and I have booked, through FC, to go there next June 13th for 2 weeks. We made this booking over the phone about 3 weeks ago and since then have called FC and been told a decision will be taken about wether FC will be sending people there next year.

That was 2 weeks ago, no news as yet. I find it VERY disturbing that people on here are saying FC are NOT taking bookings for this hotel for 2007. Where the heck does this leave us?! :(

We have looked at the website mentioned above and are itching to go there to be honest. We have two girls who next June will be 2 and 5 and the hotel looks perfect! I hope FC decide to send people there, if not I hope the hotel can carry on selling holidays because we'd gladly use another tour operator to get out there!

Here's looking forward to peoples opinions on the hotel and its facilities......and plenty of pictures too please!

Regards, Steve and Jo.

Craven Clan - when you do your review can you please include whether there is a kids club and what it is like? My kids love the kids clubs on holiday (that whole face-painting and new friends thing!) and so that is an important part for them. Thanks!

Sorry to hear your replacement was horrid. We were part of the "first wave" of cancellations (ie the ones cancelled when due to open 1 May and bumped back to 24 May) and also one of 5 british families in a 600 room hotel but we loved it.

Hopefully Kos Aqua Club, which looks fab in all those pictures, will make up for it. Enjoy!

Have just received a phone call from FC stating that they are now officially pulling out of ALL of the Aqua Beach Clubs including the Kos one, so are phoning customers to advise them and sort out new holidays.

So my holiday to KABC in May 2006 was cancelled, and now my holiday there in May 2007 is too! Off to try to get over there with the kids in August and also to sort out where else FC can take me!

Are any of us really that surprised though???!!!!!!

I rang firstchoice yesterday to purposely find out if they were selling kos aqua beach club as they named it for next year to be told no they are not. All i want to know is who will be sending ppl there next year so i can book.

It will be interesting to see if a tour operator will pick this property up for 2007, but bare in mind that the next edition of the brochures will now be printed and ready to go on the shelves.

Also tour operator interest in this area is not on the increase, (although it is a very nice place).

Anbody interested in this property as part of a package for 2007 will have to keep their ear to the ground, to find out if anybody does take it on.

But I wouldn't be surprised if no major operator does express an interest and the only "packages" are those put together by independent travel agents - much the same situation as now.

Med Hotels & its sister companies are selling this as the main contract for this year and they are going for it next year.
If they do get the contract for next year they told me that it will be October before it goes on sale.

Hi all, ive just taken a look at the link supplied by craven clan and what can I say? doesnt it look beautiful im so gutted I never got to go there. I wonder when the pics were taken? couldnt have been that long ago, I still dont understand why FC pulled out, they must have very good reasons as this hotel would have been fully booked every week for years to come and by pulling out are missing out on lots of money. I cannot wait to hear the reviews from those guys who are out there now.

Woody did you say you actually have been phoned and cancelled for 2007 by FC? my kids are supposed to be going with their dad 18th July next year he hasnt heard anything yet, Lisa London is booked too for may next year but as she is away in Cuba celebrating her birthday she wont have been told yet.

I'm in the same boat as well Michelle, FC have not contacted us at all and we're booked for June 2007.

I just want some clarity on it all - the pressure to get a decent holiday booked these days is getting unbearable.

Hi Michelle & SteveJo

Yes, FC contacted me end of last week and stated they have cancelled all Aqua Beach Clubs and are rebooking customers for different holidays.

The telephone number for the dedicated team is no surprise - 0161 745 2113.

They are meeting an additional £50 per fare paying passenger towards a different holiday AND are honouring free child places if people got them on their booking as long as their new choice of holiday has the free child place symbol.

We were booked to go Wednesday 23rd May to KABC and are now going to Port Aventura (Universal Studios theme & water park in Spain) on Friday 25th May. Although free child places are available here, as you probably know, they tend not to be available dead on the dates of half term (which this now is) but they still honoured it!

Sorry to go off the subject of Kos Aqua Club folks, but it's important that those who WERE booked for 2007 with FC know that their holidays are now cancelled!
