Hi all :)

We have been back now for nearly two weeks and it dosn't feel like I have been away.

After being cancelled by FC twice we to took the Pegasus Tropical on the 5th July.

I have looked at the pictures also and it looks very nice. We found everything at the PT very good, even got a champagne reception on arrival but there where quite a lot of the amenities not up and running as it was opened for us.

To all of you going to the KAC I hope you enjoy, we are trying to go to Kos early September this year ( work allowing ).

We recieved 20% of holiday cost back and the money we paid for Kids den which will help us to finally get to Kos ( fingers crossed )

I can't believe how quiet it is on here now, after the amount of pages we all wrote on the other two forums.

Do people know where we are? :?

But what is there left to discuss?

I think that you will find that for many discussion of KABC has reached it's natural conclusion.

After all much of the discussion on the previous threads revolved around would or wouldn't First Choice open KABC and if so when.

Those questions have now been answered with everybody now aware that the resort will not open as an FC resort in 2006 or 2007.

Many of the people involved have had or are about to have their replacement holidays, and come next year many will have forgotten what happened and blindly rebook with the same tour operator, regardless of how badly they were let down this year.

Quite sad really.

I cannot recommend this resort to anyone. I returned yesterday having had the worst holiday of my life. The resort is not complete no matter what you are told. There are numerous holes with exposed wires & pipework all over the resort, pipes leaking everywhere causing pools of stagnant water that stink. The restaurant only seats 500 yet there were 950 guests meaning long queues every meal time, that was assuming you wanted to eat the food. The salads were lovely but the cooked food looked inedible unless you wanted the obligatory chips.

That was not the worst of it though. One evening I along with at leat 2 other families were burgled, our rooms were entered using keys & locked again when our items were stolen. I lost £1,000 worth of electrical goods, another guest nearly £2,000. To add insult to injury the mangemnet accused all of us of lying & said it wasn't possible, when i continued to pursue the matter & tried to warn other guests of the robberies i was threatend with arrest & my family with expulsion from the resort. I have a number of witnesses to this & am currently pursuing legal action against the resort & holiday company. The staff were great (management excepted) but so overworked that they are already starting to leave for pastures new. The resort is definately not 4+ star, nearer 3 at a stretch. For those with small children think carefully, there were maintenance pits left open around the childrens pool daily with drops of over 10 feet into a conrete hole, also the pools have been rushed into use & the finish is dreadful; both my children suffed cuts to their feet due to the poor finish of the pool (sharp concrete floor & sides), they instead wore aqua shoes & within a day these were ruined by the rough finish to the pools. Also on the day we left the childrens pool was closed for at least 3 days for maintenance! In the middle of summer & only 4 weeks after having opened. I feel sorry for those that booked with First Choice, but commend them in having taken the decision to pull out of this resort, it is a disgrace & i am sure my posting will be joined by a number of others in a very short period of time.

hiya all
like paul we have just arrived back fron kabc

yes i agree there are teething problems with leaks, and there are a few holes left unattended, the floor of the pool is alittle rough, and even though i had requested repair to the phone in our room daily, sadly this was not sorted. (theres no pay phones at the hotel, we journied to Tingaki to phone home, and the taxi costs are quite high) but to be honest we really enjoyed this holiday for the week we were there, and everyone i spoke to had enjoyed their stay also.
the food i thought, was really good and there were plenty of choices, yes you did have to que once the hotel was fully booked, but, there was freshly cooked food being bought out still at 9-30pm. the waiting staff were rshed off their feet doing an excellent job of keeping tables and the hotel clean and tidy.

we returned from a day out at kos town to find our room unlocked, we found that nothing was missing, we presumed the maintenace men had left it open while looking at the phone, but, after reading what paul says, im glad we didnt take £1000, or even £2000 worth of electrical goods with us to be stolen! if i had have done then i would have been sensible enough to have rented the safe thats available in the rooms, like we did. after all, your guards are down, you are in a foreign country with laws differing from ours, so we always have a safe to store our passports/money/valuables.

down side:-
being a beach lover, the beach wasnt good with rocks and sea weed,
we did stroll to the right and found a lovely small patch of sand with no one around and no rock/seaweed either, we were able to go out quite far and still only have the sea waist high.

you could tell by the 4th/5th day we were there that the standards of the clientelle being booked had fallen.

there were teenagers (13 to 16 yr olds) in the bar downing alcaholic drinks , then they became loud and on one occasion fighting between them broke out. but as a mother of a 14yr old, i blame the parents, who were sitting drinking (or drunk) in the inside bar!!
there were also teenagers running around till 2am causing mayhem and vandalizing the hotels property, including the pool area, again, where or what were the parents doing?
the communial toilets were left swimming with water and paper thrown all over the place, again, a lack of respect from these undesirables
but, looking at and listening to some of the parents, no wonder the kids were out of controll.
i suppose thats what you get if you book a cheapy, shame though, because it really did bring the standards down to what you would expect in a 2* cheap package get away!

Personally, for the price we paid for this last min booking i feel we had a VERY good bargin, i would rate the hotel a 4*, i have been to so rated 5* in the past and, kabc (or hotel) has shaded these.
but,i feel that there is not enough to do there for 2 weeks, unless you rent a car or have taxis daily to get about, a week there was great to chill and recharge your batteries.

im going to bed now, as soon as iv found the camera i'l up load some photos of the place

speak soon

I am eagerly awaiting amy phone call now from FC officially cancelling our 2007 holiday to KABC.

I don't know how you could all want to book to go there after all the let downs. I am well put of the place.

If I was Kos Aqua Club I would be suing FC for losing them customers and putting potential holidaymakers from wanting to book here.

Don't expect a call from First Choice, I think they are expecting everyone to contact them!

 I, like Paul, have just returned from this Holiday Destination. Goods also went missing from our locked hotel room. The safe was so small we were unable to get all our goods stowed away. We took the decision to put the most expensive items in the safe (thankfully), although we still lost approx £800.00, we were away from our hotel room for approx. 1 & half hours when this occured (evening meal time). I really did try to talk to the Manager about the problem, and later found out he was aware of 2 other instances prior to mine, but still did not admit to a problem!!! I was fobbed off more than once and finally gave up after the last attempt, which was through the Med Hotel Rep, here I waited for the Manager for over 45mins before reality sunk in & that he had no intention of turning up (the Rep departed after approx 30 mins), also had 2 abortive atempts to lodge this problem with the Police. I truly felt that I was treated with scorn, where my presence was an unwanted hinderance in an otherwise problem free day.
Kos Town is nice but we took more trips than planned just to get variety in our vegitarian diet. In the Hotel expect to queue for a table, and then again to obtain your meal (approx 45mins/1 hr total).
We also saw numerious hole's around the resort, these were not cordoned off & approx half mtr deep with pipes and cables which we took to be water/electrical in nature. I confirm what Paul has said about the open pit's at the side of the Slide Pool, hatches covering these pits were approx 1mtr square and the dept well in excess of 2mtrs, if they were not fully open, they were propped open with a cople of bricks. Had these hatches (I informed the staff of the problem 2nd day of our stay) been secured & locked, safety/security would have been assured. I felt extreme anxiety watching small children running/playing around these open hatches. I also saw pools of water spreading accross pathways and they looked none to clean!. One path to the slide was laid on to mud, this was not stable and in fact some slabs were broken, rocking and filled with some of the water that was seeping across from another pool of water, if you walked on this path invariably you would end up with mud up your legs.

I am sorry but compared to other 4* hotels this Hotel is not in this ranking. The rooms were clean and tidy, but 2 different people that once reaching their rooms electricity was not switched on, when returning to the foyer staff told them to go back and switch on circuit breakers, which they had to do!. I lady informed me that once this was done building rubble/dust was all over the place. Great to be greeted with this at 1am in the morning.

I feel that FC are completly vindicated in withdrawing from this location, well done FC. I wish I had known!, I will certainly be looking at this type of forum prior to any future holidays. I have never had cause for complaint or concern prior to this Hotel, I am really pleased for anyone who has gone to this Hotel and experienced a pleasant stay, I just wish I was amongst you!.

Just seen that you are waiting for your call from FC cancelling your holiday for 2007 - McFester is right, phone them!! The phone number is on my previous post and is the standard KABC help line that was in place for this year's cancellations too!

Many thanks to those of you who have started posting reviews - really helpful. Even though I'd been cancelled by FC for 2006 AND 2007, I still wated to go as it looked and sounded so good. After reading the reviews, I'm giving it a wide birth. As FC have pulled out of this hotel altogether now, I don't think they believe that the problems at this resort can easily be put right.........

Oh dear, just been reading the 3 Resort Report and would suggest anyone intending to travel to Kos Aqua Club does so too. What a shame. Maybe we'll look somewhere else in Kos for next year unless the reports improve considerably.

Just read in the reviews section about the state of the beach with bits of debris sticking up through the sand. When I saw the site in June I too saw the debris and expected that it would be removed. There was no sandy beach to speak of at that time as it was clay / mud.

The beach that is there now is obviously man made and they have apprently just dumped the sand on top of building rubble, which will obviously work it's way through to the surface over time.

As regards security, at the time I did point out that anybody could walk straight into the complex from the beach side as there is nothing to stop them.

The reference being made to "private beach" by companies selling this hotel are totally inaccurate, this is a public beach, as such under Greek law you are not allowed to fence it off in any way, so passers by could possibly wander in.

Hi all
was going to use the kab as a base because of the low price. After reading the last three reviews I don't think I will bother. We will find a s/c appartment in Tingaki for September, hire a car, and have a fantasic holiday.

Bye everyone :wave

Hi guys. I have recieved my phone call from FC cancelling our booking for July next year. I have just come of the phone to them and am now trying to find an alternative.
I am actually quite glad to be out of this scenario now. Case closed now for me.

But for anyone going to Kos Aqua Club I hope that your holiday turns out to be a lot better than the expectations for it. Have fun guys, Bye :)
