Jim: On the weather I referred to from the BBC website Looe had two days in excess of 88%, I thank you- One 88 and the other 89. The Cypriot humidity at Polis I referred to showed humidity of under 50% on every day of the five days. Please check the evidence offered up before rolling eyes.

The discussion related to the unusual situation of extremely high humidity in the UK. However, our humidity is often higher than coastal Cyprus. In fact, please check out todays humidity predictions for the next five days:

As for your temperatures I don't argue that they are far, far higher on average. However, during the period we were discussing, we have had 40 degree temperatures this year in parts of the UK. Even down here, where they 'only' topped 34 degrees we have seen the Eden tropical biome cooler inside than out. I don't doubt its hard to imagine. Its the hottest year, I understand, ever in terms of an individual daily peak. However, it has happened, and that is what was being discussed at the time. A comparison of UK (extreme) with a normal Cypriot summer holiday- and why our extreme felt different than a normal holiday day, when theoretically looking at degrees only, they shouldn't feel different.
