it was a long time ago, 11 years i think, but the 1st time i went to turkey it was in the 1st week of october and the weather was still very hot and sunny, i think we had one heavy downpour of rain and apart from that it was perfect. don't know about mozzies, we were staying in turgetreis that time and there wasn't a problem with them anyway.

very strict on kids club ages cos of insurance, or so i've been told anyway.

i believe that the dolphin in sarigerme shows english football games, for the world cup games there were big screens in the hotel bar

Could anyone on here tell me what the currency is in turkey. some say sterling and some say lira. which is it? would you recommend that we take some of our own towels?

mwvickers... we went on the 17th of oct last year and the weather was lovely in the day but did get a bit cooler at night so needed a cardigan, the pools were colder in oct too.
mozzies still a problem in oct, sin kov that you buy in turkey is the best stuff for them and its cheap.
they are strict on ages in the kids clubs.
they have a big tele at the snack bar at the palace.

colin d barber... my daughter is eight and she loved the kids clubat night they do chocolate parties, sweetie bingo, movie night a mixture of games etc.
in the day mini olimpics, raft building, turkish delight, canoeing, pirates adventure, and games inside and lots more i cant remember, she did'nt do all the day time ones because of all the pools. hope this helps.

hi, emma, hayley/john was right we did go to bed early last night!
I agree with everything hayley/john said apart from the sunbed situation, we were very late risers and didnt even look for a bed til half ten at the earliest, we always got four beds in the shade and my husband would move his out into the sun to fry himself. obviously the front row by the main pool was gone but loungers are arranged about three deep and its no great distance to walk.
we occasionally parked by the big pool but usualy we sat by what we called, the 3 slides pool near the beach and kids clubs and you could get at least 2 loungers with mattresses at ant time of day.
it was by far the best holiday we had been on for sunbeds.

to answer someones questiojn about towels, i would take a few of your own as sometimes the towel hut had ran out or was waiting for them to come back from the laundry.

oops forgot to say, on the subject of chicken pox, there is chicken pox at the tropical, a notice went up this week that a child had it and they were on the look out for spots at the kids clubs.

colin d barker, my daughter is 8 and she was in the taz club which is for 6-8, they have a weeks programme which runs and runs, they had a wide variety of stuff, archery, curling, snorkelling, puppet making, turkish delight..all about turkey etc, sweetie bingo, chocolate party, medieval session where they dressed uop and had sword fights, thats all i can remember, my daughter loved them all and did them all, they were always well attended in fact some sessions were full so you had to get there early.

hi claire, glad you enjoyed yours hols, i think the sunbed situation was a bit more difficult at the palace, we were quite late getting up too and found it hard to get beds.
the pool that you mention with the three slides was our faviourite last year when we stayed at the tropical and we did come over to use it a few times this year and was able to get a couple of beds.
there is a pancake tent iibetween the p/p and the p/t that does lovely fresh pancakes so anyone about to go should defo try it

colin there are 8hrs of kids clubs per day, sessions are
10 til 11.30
12 til 1.30
2.30 til 4
4.30 til 6
9 til 11 at night

the two morning ones are the same and the two afternoon ones are the same, e.g choice of snorkelling at ten or 12 and choice of archery 2.30 or 4.30, kids can do all sessions though, the evening ones are sometimes extra and always £2 i.e sweetie bingo, chocolate party, farewell party, you can pre book these at certain times over at the palace, all the info is on the club door and the timetables are in afew places around the village, its a good idea to pay in advance as the evening clubs a re very popular for obvious reasons, bless those little darlings!

Hi all,

Mrs Elbow here - he's watching the little 'un while I ask questions.

Has anyone used the tweety creche? (I know that has been discusions about the olders kids clubs) What was it like and were you happy to leave your baby/toddler with strangers?

Also we have pre-booked some sessions but I don't think we have specified when, will it be okay to do this when we get there?

What kinds of things did they do and is there an evening session?

Thanks in advance

Brochure states you can use speciality restaurants 3 times.

Is that 3 times a week or 3 times per stay

It's one each per stay, although we went to the Asian restaurant twice, lovely!
