hi Kazlin
The entertainment team "One Stop". Well the name was right as the change over in the first week was like who? The hotel did not really have an entertainment team when We first got there. I know that the short chubby proxxy blonde got the sack but don't know her name. Well only saw her on the stage the once. Then it was floaters. Then they brought back a girl who had started there but since moved to Protaras but brought her back. For the second week We had Jen and Gemma. Both lovely girls but to try entertaining an audience with no particular skills can't be expected.
I must admit I found the entertainment much better than my holiday last year with First Choice at the Papantonia in Protaras. So I was not expecting anything magnificent anyway.
Get rid of Mr.Magic!! What a joke!! AND karaoke is old hat now, forget it!!
Hee hee did you have the pleasure of seeing "Freddy Mercury"?
Hi beth the proxxy blond is liz. when we arrived at the electra the entertainers were liz and harriet. By the end of our hols harriet left and maxine arrived from england. As for Mr Magic wat a load of rubbish. No we did not get the pleasure of Freedy Murcury but we did get the pleasure of Elvis hee hee
It was quite funny because "Jolly John" from the Kids Club came and stopped over at ours this week.
It was great to meet such friendly people at the Electra. Weve got a friend for life here
Hi beth ,glad to hear you have had a vist from "jolly john". I have read on holiday truths that he has left the electra village , what a shame as he seemed so good with all the children and he was very good with the karaoke!
I'm off there next year for my honeymoon and there are only limited photo's on the net.
About the best i've seen are on the Aquasol hotels website - but there are only a couple.
Thanks
S
Thanks
The Electra was good we were in a large studio which was ground floor with terrace, right at the back, and we were glad as the noise around the bar area can be quite loud in the evenings,
We were S/C but you can upgrade to A.I when you get there i think it was a minimum of 3 days ,, We did not bother as we like to get out and about and there are lots af places to eat and drink in the surrounding area.
I think teenagers might find the entertainment a bit boring and i think there was only 1 or 2 pool tables , It was nice and the bar staff were friendly, the few meals we did have were nice but we were sitting in covered but open bar area so it was cool and it was September.
There was pool activities going on to keep teenagers amused. but having done A.I in the Carribean numerous times we find the European A. I sadly lacking we have tried it in the Canaries and Baelerics but did not like it as much,
So unless you are content to sit round the pool and stay in your hotel at night I would say go S/C and decide if you want to upgrade to A.I when you get there. leaving you free to make the choice, when we were there some were sick of the A.I and just wanted to get out as the entertainment was not that good, for adults but the kids liked it.
Thanks very much for replying we appreciate your comments. Still can't make a decision about next summers holiday
I know the feeling I was the same when we booked the Electra but it does have nice big pools and the beach just round the corner is good,
See, I'm off again..........
It has 2 pools the smaller is used for water polo and so on at certain times and gardens around it and a large grassed area as you go down to the beach,
Elizabeth
Thanks again for your reply.....still not decided
hi jan ,my family and i went to the electra last june. We took our children with us age 10,13 14, we all had a lovley time . there was no kids club but the kids join in with the adults entertainment in the day and night. There is about three beaches to choose from all within walking distance . Some nights we went into ayia napa about 20 mins walk on the beach front (abeach pathway) Kids loved the town so much to do there is a fair and lots of shops.Any way about the pools we had no trouble finding a sun bed and we went out every morning at 10 and got a sunbed by the waterpolo pool, we liked it by that pool as it was more quiet as the large pool was more active but the kids spent more time in the large pool. The conclusion from this holiday was a relaxin holiday with entertainment if you desired it.I could tell you alot more about our holiday at the electra but i think ive written enough for now, kazlin
: D happy new year to every one on the holiday truths i will talk to you about holiday 2007 soon watch this space !!!!!!!
Hi kazlin
I would definitely put the Electra as a family hotel for young children. I was disappointed at one stage because the place turned into a 18-30's holiday when a group of young adults Booked in on a supposed late deal. Obviously they were here to take in the Ayia Napia night life.
There was a wedding party there whilst our stay. I don't know but as much as we enjoyed our stay at the Electra I wouldn't choose it as a honeymoon suite. Mind you they were a big family, so affordable I suppose.
You can't really knock The Electra though. It is in an ideal location and the service is good. even if you tire from the entertainment you can escape into the heart of Ayia Napia.
Oh yes for those asking this hotel has one large pool with a segregated toddlers part. The second pool is really for water polo and the First Choice kids swim lessons.
I agree with what beth 72 has to say about the electra. after all my family and myself had a lovley holiday . Yes we did have a bunch of lad in the next apartment a bit worried at first with teenage daughters .But they were a nice bunch of lads and gave us no trouble, and did not make a noise when they came back late.I think we made more noise than them.
Can anyone tell me if this place has a laundry room?
and what is the gym/fitness room like?
thanks
Yes the hotel does have a laundry room. I can't quite remember prices now but with the heat just doing a wash will be enough.
We went in June this year and totally loved the place, good location for us with 2 small children, hotel has everything you need and with access to a beach what more do you want. Close to Nissa beach also, although we hired a car and much preferred fig tree bay in protaras which was just 15 minutes drive away. Pool is one of the best i've seen especially if you've got small children as it is shallow and gradually gets deeper, also has a seperate section for children aswell.
i expect it to be chokka
