We booked this hotel for the end of October about 6/8 wks ago after receiving loads of help from them via email. We booked through their central reservations as we were told this was the only way.
I was advised by reservations to email the hotel directly to request sea view rooms, a low bed for our 2 year old and directions from the airport.
I sent this email to the hotel using the same address i had before that had been really helpful... the only response i got was along the lines of take a taxi from the airport its easier.
I replied advising we had hired a car and so needed directions and what about my other queries. It took 3 weeks and emailing twice more to get another response and all this was asking was or my name and arrival date (both had already been included), so yesterday i again asked for directions and about the s/view and extra bed and the reply i got was to go back to reservations!!!!! I feel like i am hitting my head against a brick wall.......sorry for the rant but does anyone think i am being unreasonable as i am getting the impression that this hotel does!!!
I think you are being reasonable, I have emailed every hotel I have booked DIY , some 1 star and have always received a prompt reply they usually are so happy to help. Not a good start for the holiday is it!
ive emailed the samos twice, with a couple of questions and recieved no reply off them at all
thanks for your replies - i sent a reply to both the hotel and central reservations on Friday saying i just wanted answers to my questions and it didnt matter who from and that if they couldnt supply directions from the airport how were we meant to get there? i stated that i was really dissappointed with there response and if they werent even prepared to give us directions perhaps we should look for alternative accomodation.... so far no response.... i'm really quite upset about this as the service at first was fantastic - does anyone think a proper complaint email to RIU or the hotel might help... i dont want to have to try and find alternative accomodation but likewise i dont want to be staying somewhere that cant even give us directions!!!!!!
With regard to directions - see if the hotel is on Expedia as they sometimes have driving directions.
If you have the address then try the Via Michelin site - http://www.drive-alive.co.uk where you can get driving routes.
Have you tried phoning them instead?

Thanks for that info, ringing them was going to be used as a last resort to be honest, the tone of the last email i received really put me off wanting any contact at all let alone actually speaking to someone.
We have stayed in RIU hotels before on mainland Spain and never had a problem, and to be fair in this instance the emails i received prior to booking were both prompt and very helpful. Now they have our booking its like they just dont care.... i wouldnt normally take it so much to heart but we are taking out 2 year old and my mum who has recently recovered from 2 major ops and hasnt been abroad in years - i really want everything to be ok for her.....
Thanks again for the websites - i'll definitley try and obtain my own directions.
