Hi,just wondered if anyone has got any help for me on either of these hotels.I would like to know which one of these is nearer the beach and the night life.Plus having the best food would be an added bonus.I haven't been to tenerife before so please excuse me if i seem a bit stupid. We will have our 6 yr old daughter with us,so we have to consider her too.
Thank you for any help.
Angela.
Also the pools are heated which is fab. Its about 300 metres to the sea front but its pebbled along a long stretch of the sea front you would have to go to either los christianos sandy beach or playa de las americas black sand beach which is roughly the same distance from the Bitacora.
We went into the Vulcano and its got a beautiful reception but when we ate there it was not as nice as the Bitacora. As they are sister hotels you can actually swap a night and eat at the other for a night and we were not that impressed by the Vulcano's food.
Having said that that was a year ago it could have changed.
The hotels are just down the road and across from each other so not much difference between distance to be honest.

I have stayed at the Hotel Vulcano 3 times and can strongly recommend it. The Hotel Bitacora is about 100 metres down the road. So as far as which is nearest the beach and Nightlife, there isn't much in it really.
The hotel is exeptionaly clean and the food good, an added extra is that i have always found the staff friendly and helpful.
You can find more info on the Spring Hoteles website. They also offer a Spring card which gets you 10% discount on all goods purchased in the hotel including drinks from the bar!!!
I hope this helps

I am only two weeks back form the bitacora. We are both in our twenties, the hotel food was top class, it was like what I imagine food heaven is!! The entertainment wasnt great but you are very close to walk to more lively ends on playa de las americas if you wish or to the beachfront areas. Also the other hotels around have entertainment you could wander into, we went in to the hotel h10 conquistador, 2 mins walk away, and they had some good shows on. The volcano hotel is a couple of steps further back but there is really not a lot in the difference. We walked over to it one of the days and it did not look as nice as the bitacora, however I never stayed there. Neighbours of mine stayed there said food was great.
I def will return to the bitacora hopefully in feb, even if the weather isnt great, ill enjoy the food!!!
If you have any questions at all no probs or if you will to send me a pm
If you want a kids club for your daughter go to the Bitacora. Its run by the animacion team and they are really good with the kids. Its a nice undercover area with a ball pit, drawing and painting area and they do other activities such as a treasure hunt and face painting. Also beware of the food at the Bitacora - its to die for!!! Especially the steaks they cook freah for you, and dont even get me started on all the desserts - heaven!
We have stayed at the Bitacora 3 time now and would thoroughly recommend it. Both hotels are close to the beach, just walk past the Vulcano, across the road past the Mediterranean Palace (pedestrian walkway) and you are at the beach - no hills. This summer we took our daughter (15) and her friend with us, they had difficulty finding sunbeds round the pool at the Bitacora so went across the road to the Vulcano and really liked it, they even chose to go there when there were beds at the Bitacora. So really the choice is up to you but remember that the Vulcano is advertised as Adult Only in some brochures so more children are at the Bitacora and they do seem to cater very well for them as mentioned with a special play area. I am sure that you will have a fantastic time whichever hotel you choose.
hi just got back from the vucano fantastic hotel, as said many times, the only thing that lets this exellent hotel down is the sunbed scramble in the mornings, my partner bless her was down every morning at TEN PAST SEVEN just to get a prime position, as most of them are set in regimental rows, there are only a dozen beds or so which you can move around freely, also the food myth at the bitacora, both hotels get the same food as they are in a chain, no one hotels food is better than the others
Bitacora for sure ... we are looking to go for New Years Eve but I cant make my mind up between the La Siesta and the Bitacora Never been that time of year before and the Siesta has an indoor pool..
I have been to both and the Bitacora for me wins hands down. Yes La Siesta is newly refurbished but the bitacora gets it just right in terms of food, entertainment etc.
La Siesta does have an indoor pool, but as it is in the spa no under 16s are allowed which annoyed me as I paid adult fare for my 13 yr old and she could not use the spa.
That would have annoyed me too!! We booked La Siesta last night with First Choice - Bitacora had gone but I cannot wait, it will just be me and my husband we are celebrating his 40th birthday on New Years Eve.
I'm sure you'll have a great holiday - take your child to Loro Parque, she'll love it (and you too!)
