It certainly is the same as Subway in the UK. The one on Baga Road is owned by a young guy from Mumbai, they have to be on the ball as apparently the Subway people do spot checks on everything from cleanliness to the temperature of the ovens.

We have been pricing Goa for new year 2007 and it is quite expensive. However , we did get quite a good price for the Riverside Guest house. It just concerns me that it is very basic, I mean how basic is basic?! I guess the Riverside Regency Resort is across the river on the way to the beach? There is not a lot of hotel reviews on these accommodtions. I assume the resort is a bit less basic than the guest house? Also reading the reports it appears to be quite noisy as its so near the box bridge. Just wouldnt like to book something and its not what you expect. Any advise?

Just noticed an old post i done in october.shoud have said floating palace,and not river princess,i bet g.f.f thought i was a right plonker.
The river side will be very basic,but every one who has been say it is clean and rooms a good size,and also a good restaurant ,clean rooms go a long way in goa,or anywhere else.I will be there on 18 jan and i am confident.will give report when i get back.

It is basic, clean, friendly close to the beach and fantastic food (both sides) I love it!!!! (oh I'm getting all excited now as it's only 6 weeks tomorrow). They are both owned by the same family the regency is the newest, both have swimming pools. The noise is worse if you have a room at the front but not unbearable (after a few kings that is

Thats great Donna. I always prefer when someone has been and can recommend a place. The prices are very reasonable for new year. We will be in Goa in Feb also, staying at the Marinha Dourada, so we are going to pop out to the riverside and ask to see round.

I passed the Riverside yesterday on my way to Lila cafe for lunch and commented to Mr FlipFlop on how noisy and annoying it must be to be staying there........the bridge work is very, very, noisy!! Yesterday they were knocking it down using jackhammers, not the best location if you want a bit of peace and quiet. The new Road accross the football pitch and leading to the bridge is under construction at present so lots of big orange trucks about too.

I haven't been to Baga beach at all since the shacks went up, in all honesty I haven't been to Calangute much either, we've been heading a bit further north lately away from the sellers.
I hope the noise at the bridge doesn't spoil your holiday.......just drink extra honeybee in a nice cup of hot milky coffee or chocolate before you go to bed, it works for me!!!

I would imagine that by the time New Year 2008 comes around the bridge and road will be well and truly finished, unfortunately it will bring with it a lot more traffic. It does look like a lovely Hotel by the way and the setting overlooking the creek is gorgeous.
