It is great to hear from someone who can actaully recommend a particular area to stay. Just at the look for Oak Island on VRBO.

Did you find there were other holiday makers staying in the area or was it more a residential community.

To be honest i think we were the only ones there, it seemed very quite which is what we liked, i didnt see any other holiday maker at our location.
We didnt get a choice of the location just dropped lucky

We have just returned today after going 4x and have always booked a hotel. If you dont mind me asking how much is it to stay at a villa and how many persons where in your party?
We are looking to go again in Oct for 2 weeks and also how much was flights etc? Just debating hotel/villa.
Thanks Liz.

Usually if you deal direct with a villa owner rather than a tour operator you tend to get a better villa anyway.

A villa owner doing their own bookings tend to be really on the ball and usually do everything they can to have their villa spit spot

Often (and not always) tour operator villas can end up looking tired as they just lose out on that personal touch.

Most owners who do their own bookings-see their villa as their baby-and love and cherish them.

They also try to find someone to love and cherish them in their absence. A good manager is hard to find-but when you do you hang on tight-because they make all the difference to a villa that really shines to like I said one that looks run down.

Kathleen i have replied back to you :D

Liz, i booked with first choice i paid £2,818 this is for 3 bed villa, flights, car and insurances, i upgraded to premier class for £400.
If i was to go again i would definatly book things separatly, i would book the villa privatly, i echo what Alisonsvilla has said they are better looked after. Our villa was brilliant but not half as nice as the private ones if you want a good web site dm me i will send you it. I went into our neighbours villa while i was there it was really nice and she has offered me to rent it if we go back, yes its a little more money (£200) but i would do this next time :)

There was four in our party 2 adult two kids age 16 and nine, we enjoyed this holiday more because of the villa it was so nice to come home and get in the pool with no other kids screamimg around  after a long day at the parks.
I am just looking for a villa in the Algave for next August, just for this reason it gives you the freedom and peace to do what you want, everyone is different but i couldnt of done this holiday in a hotel room i would of killed my husband and the kids!!
Flights are easy to book i would go with first chioce again but in the normal star class.
I priced up for both villas and hotels when i booked it and the prices were the same give or take £100, you will have to drive though.

Oak Island Cove and the several estates in the Splendid China area are incredibly convenient to Disney. No long drives back to the villa when you are tired from a day at the attractions!
