There is one thing that smacks me in the face reading the report on Ajet ceasing from the cyprus-mail.com site which can be seen here
The very last line - "Boeing has admitted its 737 series of planes suffer from design faults"
What the hell is all that about????
you would have to read back over the whole story or ask a pilot.. basically it boils down to the fact that the cockpit warnings can have several major or minor faults warnings for each tone depending on the flight config etc and these can easily be misinterpreted by the flight crew
Ah right, i thought they meant like wings falling off and stuff like that.
Have now noticed that next years holidays from Teesside and Newcastle are showing as EuroCypria flights so it does look as if a permanent replacement is in place.
Maybe just to close this particular thread it is confirmed that Ajet have suspended all flights due to poor financial results and pressure from creditors. Libra Holidays have stated in aviation press that this was nothing to do with the Helios crash near Athens earlier in the year. Alas, they are no more.
Monarch are due to take over the Luton-Lanaca slots left by a-jet
