Not to be rude but, an independant travel agent is completely different from a tour operator, in that a tour operator, "operates tours" i.e has their own planes and package holidays, Internet based website travel agents such as flydeals and expedia etc mearly book seats on flights with tour operators therefore making them an independant travel agent, but not an actual tour operator such as First choice or Thompsons etc,
However well done for your research on the ABTA number, I didn't know that flydeals had there fingers in a few pies to be honest, just shows what you can find when your motivated by someone else's forum post.

Not to be rude cretevillas, but I find your posts quite condescending. This site has been going for years and serves to help a lot of people, so before launching unwarranted attacks it would serve you better to READ the original posts first.

Regarding resurrecting posts: When I post on any subject, I try to post under the same heading e.g if a hotel has been mentioned earlier or a Tour Operator. I thought it was easier to see all the posts under one heading but I can see that some out-of-date postings can raise their heads again!! (Sometimes these old topics make great reading though!!)
