There was the one about the couple who wanted to move to the Spanish countryside and set up a snail farm - I think it was called A Place In Spain - the couple were called Lee and Cheryl (I think) and much of the programme was the two of them chugging around Spain in a van, being indecisive about every property/land they looked at and having lots of hilarious arguments. I think Channel 4 actually made two full series of Lee & Cheryl's adventures because it was so entertaining :D

Hi the programme featuring the Indian guy who had no money was called Living the Dream. The restuarant is called Diva and is in Torrevieja, it has a website on which he says he and his family have settled in Spain and are doing well. His name is Pritpal, he certainly looked doomed for failure on the programme.

Also in the same vein as a Place in Spain; was A Place in Greece with the 2 gay men, Brian & Andrew, I thought this one was very entertaining; mainly due to the antics of Brian and his quest to get his picture window in their new build villa. Anybody else remember this one.

One of my favourites was the show in which 'The Rich Bitch' show bar in Benidorm was featured. I think in the same series they did a show on this guy who did a tribute act to Roy 'Chubby' Brown'. It was interesting to watch his story unfold bringing up his kids alone on the caravan site in Benidorm.

I don't think they need to do an update on the story of 'The Rich Bitch' Bar as anyone who has been to Benidorn and to this venue will already know how succesful the Owners of the bar became, but I wonder what happened to 'Chubby Brown'?

I don't remember 'A Place In Greece' and I love Greece. How long ago was it broadcast? Hopefully they might repeat it one day.

My all time favourite travel programme was "Rough Guide".It was presented by Magena Divine,a tall dark haired lady who wore sunglasses all the time.I cant remember who her co-presenter was then, but they did a few programmes a couple of years ago and Simon O,Brien was her co-presener.They went to some amazing places and the local politics and customs were part of the programme.

Hi B.H.I.C
A Place in Greece has been repeated at least once on C4 and also on one of the satelite channels, I caught a few episodes of it only the other week. Keep a look out for it, you will enjoy it as Cyberspacekadette says; it`s very funny.

I can't remember what it was called (it may have already been mentioned) but there was one British comedian who had a 'tribute' act to Roy (Chubby) Brown and was tryng to get regular work in the Spanish clubs. meanwhile was trying to find somewhere he could afford to live and get his young daughter into a local school. In the same prog there was the family who had sold up somewhere up north (Shefield I think) and had moved to Spain to their new life. He couldn't find work and money was running out. Then he got a job in a Tomato canning factory and he thought he was quids in. When he got his first paycheck his total inability to understand Spanish (despite numerous holidays there) meant that what he thought was his weekly wage turned out to be his monthly wage!

Living in the Sun were over in Benidorm two weeks ago doing a piece on Matthew and Son, following them around to their spanish x factor auditions, so look out for them later on in the year. They were the ones Simon Cowell on english x factor said were abominable and a load of rubbish and probably wouldn't get a job singing in Benidorm   Well they did

I'm sure you'll have a great time in Benidorm.

Could you please make use of your full keyboard and not use so called text speak - it make your post difficult to read

Just digging this old chestnut back up  , for anyone who`s interested they are starting a repeat run of A Place in Greece; which was mentioned a couple of times earlier in this thread; starting tomorrow at 1p.m on Ch 4. Hope someone finds this useful.
