The ones in Matagorda are not central to Puerto del Carmen, if that's important to you. Matagorda is a fairly quiet area, and a long walk to Puerto del Carmen itself!

thank you lanzafan this could be an imporatant factor. Can anyone reccommend anywhere else to stay, bars, places to eat and most important what the weather should be like : )

Hi - we always stay @ Los Fragosos (small complex all privately owned apartments) with communal pool. Apartments are on 2 levels and have 2 bedrooms - are very well equipped and well maintained. There are no bars/restaurants on the complex, but it is situated between "The Strip" and "The Old Town". Plenty of bars and restaurants. We've been coming here for the last 10 years with our children. We stayed here last year for Easter and had beautiful weather. Am returning this year for the half-term break again.

Hi we stay at the Bitacora apts and have had no problem. Good location between old and new town, takes approx6 min stroll to beach (it is on a hill, some say steep, but it really isnt' that bad)!
We're going back at end of this month. Apartments nice and comfortable and reasonably priced. No entertainment, but bar & restaurants in abundance on the front.
We have also stayed at the Hyde Park apts but this is about a 20 min walk from the centre of PDC, but again we found it ok and enjoyed the walk (always get a taxi back at night if you wish)!!
