We did the jeep safari from Marmaris 2 years ago, I t was fantastic, If you dont feel safe with their drivers you could always drive yourself which my husband did. You are still in a convoy with 1 of there drivers in front and one behind, I must say it was a fantasic day out and we didnt need cameras ect has they had there own guy doing this for you and then we purchased the disc for about £7. When we got home there was also a disc of marmais in there which was showing the countryside and different places of interest in the town which was a really nice touch. Off to Marmaris at 3pm today and the first trip we will be going on is the jeep safari (husband driving).

We booked with Oz at Sarigerme Tours and a seperate company come and pick you up, can't remember the name now however.

The driver Razaman was superb, a really great guy, friendly, knowledgable and loved my little five year old brother and had him sitting in the front when he got scared of the water.

The trip itself was amazing, such good value for money, fresh trout in a ravine was wonderful, as was the views from the mountains, the beach and everything. The day felt very personall and it was great seeing traditional village life even stopping for tea at some random house and looking inside!

The company was based in Daylan, so one jeep of 8 were based there, and our jeep had come from the Holiday Village/Tropical in Sarigerme, which added another half hour onto the ride, but certainly one of the best things we've ever done.

I have done two jeep safaris one from Icmeler with Tunga Travel (Carol) this is the one with the blue fish was brilliant and the other from Olu Deniz with Bloody Georgous the 1st one was a real fun day some culture carpet factory, honey place, wishing tree, & waterfall, and the place where you can walk on the water! the 2nd from Olu was ruins, villages, patara beach, Salikent, trout farm where the fish swim around the bar fantastic more cultural both worth every penny, the 2nd was a real eye opener I saw very poor children in the villages I suggest taking a big bag of sweets and some pencils etc for these children I really saw the other side of Turkey which was really heart wrenching were the 1st was more of a fun trip I loved both trips but both were very different, can anyone tell me if you see the blue fish on the Icmeler Online Jeep Safari and what the itinery is and whether lunch is included??? thanks

Brilliant day out, we have been to Marmaris on several occasions but October was the first we did jeep safari, I would recommend it, wear something oldish as you get covered in muddy water and take a water gun! Be prepared to get soaked!

wgipk.

Agree with other members, brilliant day out - we've done the safari twice now and it gets better everytime.
We book our's through Matty's bar - just ask to go on kevin's jeep safari - great set of drivers all game for a laugh and don't mind getting soaked.
Be prepared to get dirty and wet - but brilliant

hi all. what sort of price would you expect to pay for the jeep safari fo a family of 4. Thanks

Steve,
Matty's bar is just of the main road - if you go to the main junciton on the main road there is an Indian called Taj Mahl - as your stood looking at it with the beach behind you walk up that road and it's on the left hand side on the corner - sorry don't know where the accommodation is that your staying at - if you get stuck ask someone and they will tell you - as it is a popular bar and restaurant. :P

After a very disappointing jeep safari last time,we did it again this year and it was a fantastic day,we booked with basils ,armed with a couple of water guns,a 5 litre bottle of water and a bucket of water balloons were picked up on time taken to our jeep and off we all went, with plenty of water stops it was a continuos water fight, lunch was nice as jeep safari lunches go,so another must go to when visiting marmaris

we did the jeep safari in marmaris july 06

fab day our little one even enjoyed she was only three n half
we had water guns and frozen water so when it started to melt we filled the guns with it. it felt like you were being hit with pellets.
our food was included, make sure you take a hat cos its scorching in the trucks with the sun beaming down on you.
i think we paid 10 quid pp but the kids were free.
a brill day out well worth the money.
when we went on the trip we got english style jeeps with full sides not the american style which were quite dangerous, we saw 3 accidents on our day out one was quite serious where a woman was sat in the front with the driver when they went round a bend she fell out and was badly hurt but that was a american style jeep.
just ask about the jeeps before you book.
we stayed at the club julian, if you came out julian turned left and crossed over there is a little kiosk that does excursions thats who we booked with the guy was reccommended to me on here but cant remember his name.
anyway i think most people would enjoy this trip, bit bouncy, take pain killers if you suffer with your back.
enjoy pam xx

Hello
We are going to Turkey in August with two 12 year old boys. we have been on several jeep safari's on other holidays and would like to do one in Turkey. We are staying in Gumbet and wondered where we would book the Blue Fish jeep safari as this seems to get good reviews for safety etc. we want jeep's with seatbelts without doubt. I have read the reviews about jeep safar's and am a bit worried that they sound so wreckless, would be appreciative of any advice regarding jeep safari's from Gumbet, if there is such a thing!
Many thanks in advance.

I believe the 'blue fish' jeep safari is from the Icmeler/Marmaris area, not Bodrum area. We did a jeep safari from Bitez, next door to Gumbet, which picked up all around Bodrum. It was nothing like the Marmaris ones described on here! No water fights at all. Toured the countryside with various stops. Lunch at a waterside restaurant and then on to a deserted beach for a swim. Photo with a camel. See carpet weaving. Very ancient seatbelts I seem to remember and presumably equally ancient jeeps!
