Hi
A group of us will be going on a Carnival 5 day cruise (on the ship Elation) from Port Canaveral in 3 weeks. I know there is one 'formal' dining night but what exactly is the dress code for that? Mention is made of tuxedos for men, but I just wondered how out of place one would feel if it was a lounge suit or even sports jacket? We are 'doing' the Turks and Caicos Islands and Nassau, I am assuming the temperatures at the end of January will be quite favourable?
Any info would be appreciated.
Most Carnival ships are very relaxed about dress code - you will find that the Americans tend not to dress up on formal occasions. A suit will be fine. If you wear a bow tie you could be one of only a handful of passengers and they are probably British.
I was on the Carnival Inspiration a couple of years ago and the few people in formal wear stuck out like a sore thumb. We are going on the Imagination in two weeks and I don't expect the dress code to be any different.
