Re the question about the roadworks from the Palm Beach, just got back from PDLA and saw them. They go from the Palm Beach, past Veronicas and end at the road junction near the Colon II apartments. You can walk along there although the pavement on the beach side, for part of the way, is blocked off but you can walk on the opposite side of the road. There was still quite a bit of work to do but it will probably be finished by March. It will certainly look really good when it's all finished. There are lots of concrete rectangles, presumably flower beds, on either side of the one-way road and when/if they are filled with flowers it should look stunning.
The road works start again from just past the Santa Maria apartments in Torviscas and go up the hill just past the big hotel, Torviscas Playa I think it was called, but they are nearly finished and don't cause any problems with walking or driving.
By the way, the market used to be opposite the Pueblo Torviscas apartments, where I stayed but it's certainly in a better place now - just behind the Hotel Fanabe. The only couple of times I've been to the market it was so squashed up and crowded you couldn't get near the stalls but there's now a lot more room and it didn't feel crowded at all.
Its all filled in now and the drainage seems to be working fine.
all thats left is the titivation.
Thanks for the update Makum. glad it is now finished and not so dusty
Hi I have just got back from Tenerfie and the road works are no where near finsihed - so defo will not be finsihed by MArch
hoep oits all done before the mad tourist rush starts
Now I didn't say WHICH March did I !!!
There has'nt been any posts for a while on here so i'd thought i'd ask......
how are the road works around Torviscas playa ( main street and side slope to the beach) also the road between the hotel and Harleys) We have'nt been back since February 07.
Thanks.. Bob
Roadworks are complete in this area and all the way past San Eugenio CC bougainville hotel down the hill and along to the Veronicas area which is the latest victim of the roadworks. It is much more pedestrian friendly now if you walk from Hesperia Troya down the road back to Torviscas Playa. 1 way all the way except between Bougainville and St EugenÅ› bar which is the same dual carriageway it has always been
