Is it possible to hire a four wheel drive to take me and the o.h. to the falls from our hotel in the south (Majorda Beach), if so, any idea on the cost?
We went about four years ago when we stayed in the north. We went as part of a daytrip. We were delayed for ages while we picked people up and on the way back we were taken to a zoo that we didn't want to go to as it had already been a long day.
Just get a taxi there. Once you get to the waterfall entrance that is where you pick up the 4 x 4 usually sharing with 3 other couples to take you down to the falls. Good Luck.
Taxis charge something in the 1000 to 1200 range for a return day trip to Colem village from where the 4-wheel jeeps start.
I went in November and paid 1200 from Benaulim.
It is also possible to get to Colem (Kulem?) by train, with several trains a day from Margao and at least one a day from Majorda.
