Hi
Trying to find out big the Stanwix Park is? We stayed on ex Haven site in Northumbria (Forgotten the name) and found it very impersonal, had quite a few complaints and the staff were not bothered, we prefer the smaller sites. Going to do some homework on sites in the area so will let you know if I find anything of interest.

I live about 15 miles from Stanwix Park and occasionally go with the kids in summer on a day pass. Although anyone can book on a day pass not many do as its in quite a rural location.

I cannot comment on the rooms but the leisure facilities are quite good, they have an indoor pool with jaczzi, sauna and steam room, its clean. Also there is a small outdoor pool which is open in summer months. There is a main entertainment block which has a function room (entertainment in peak season) and things like horse riding etc. The Stanwix seems popula with Scottish visitors from the accents I hear.

Locally, theres not a huge amount to do in Silloth. Its an old victorian seaside resot on the coast. If you plan on taking the car theres a few attractions in the area such as an Aquarium in Maryport (8 miles away) also its handy for the Lakes but its probably an hours drive to Keswick and an hour and an half to Windermere etc. Carlisle is about 20mins by car

Hope this helps

PS its quite small compared to the other parks like Haven etc
