Seeing the thread on Mobiles in Cuba prompt me to ask what the situation is in Barbados. I have a contract with O2 and a wee samsung phone. It has worked fine in Europe and Lanzarrote. I won't be using it much, just to ring home, a couple of times, hopefully!!

In fact if the news is chaos after one call I won't bother ringing again....

My mobile phone worked perfectly in Barbados when I was there last in November.

My contract is with O2.

I used a payg O2 sim when in Barbados worked okay, used it for a daily text.Make sure your phone is TRI Band.

Let O2 know before you go that you will be abroad and where or it could take a week to activate the phone as they think it may have been stolen.

In my case it was a good job it did take a week, although I really did think I hadn't used it much at all, I had a big shock when the bill arrived. :oops:

Thank you, yes I will contact O2 before I go, as you say it might take a few days to set up. Europe was Ok but further afield might need something extra.

Ughhhhhhhh.... TRI band?? not got a scoobie what that means... :oops:

but O2 will tell me I daresay..
