Hi Linzi_Lou, as Kezza says you'll be spoilt for choice on the strip for restaurants and bars. My favourite bar is Bells bar, the same as Kezza funnily enough. Good party atmosphere in there. Glad to see you like to travel around as well as there is a lot to see. Within 15 mins either way of the strip you have Ayia Napa one way and Pernera, Kapparis, Paralimni and the green line the other way.
I normally go a couple of times a year and never go anywhere else now i've found Protaras.
Have fun when you go, i'm sure you will.
I have merged your post with an existing topic on the Sunrise Beach and you may find some useful information in earlier posts.

The gym is definately free, i used the sauna once and i paid at reception, only a small fee, i cant remember exactly how much.
Sorry people, another Sunrise Beach question, but this ia a very important one (so the wife says ), are there any kettles in the bedrooms? Wifey won't budge in a morning without her 2 cups of coffee!
Sorry to disappoint your wife but there are no kettles in the rooms at the Sunrise Beach. Unless this has changed, but there weren't any last year.

a coupl emore questions please if anyone can help. is there a fridge or mini bar in the rooms that you could use for storing water?
Is there beach towels provided or is it best to bring our own?
Thankyou in advance.
Re the mini-bar/fridge, the answer is yes. You can have it stocked as a mini-bar or have it empty to use as a fridge. It is small, although for water, drinks, etc. it's sufficient, and there is a daily charge. Well worth it though.
Yes, they do provide pool/beach towels, you pick up fresh ones from the poolside each day. Save room in your suitcase!

Very good thread this for me as I'm staying there in June. Flying out on 27th June with First Choice from Gatwick. First time in Cyprus and it sounds as thoiugh I've picked a good hotel.
thanks for the replies, sounds a good choice. has anyone been this year and know if you need to pay for fridge and safe in room? and how much this is? just working out our budget before we go.
Anyone have a link to their webcam, I've lost mine.
Here's the link, but its still down I am afraid
Thanks pubdog, it's been like that a while now hasn't it.
A few quick q's...
The pool towels they provide, can you take these onto the beach? Also can you just leave your belongings at your loungers at the pool and go to the sea easily enough or would you have to hire the loungers on the beach?
Fridge in the room, any ideas of cost? (trying to work out budget to take)
Is there a TV in the room? any ideas of English speaking channels (This is my H's q not mine )
We have booked a Side Sea View room, does this overlook the pool or the other 'side' of the complex?
We are also hiring a car for the 2 weeks, is there any car parking available?
Thanks a lot
Jaime C

Hi Jaime
The pool towels, yes they are for use by the pool and on the beach. We always left our belonging poolside, it's only a few steps down and you're on the beach. Never had a problem at all, nor did we hear of any. You're so close to the beach it wouldn't be worth hiring loungers.
Fridge in room - from hazy recollection it was either around CYP£17 per week or fortnight.
There is a TV in the room. We didn't watch it much at all and I seem to recall they only had News 24 or other news channels in English. Enough to keep up with what's happening in the world.
A side-sea view room will look over the other side of the hotel, not the pool (they class those as full sea view) Nice rooms there though and lovely views.
Parking - yes there is a car park at the top as you turn into the hotel. There was no cost for it, but you have to pay a deposit for an electronic card to open it, which you got back when you gave the card back.
Hope that helps and you have a fantastic time!
Kerry
We are collecting the car at Larnaca airport and will be driving to the hotel, is there somewhere to park until we get the key fob for the barrier to the car park? (sorry if its a silly q)
Jaime c
No, not a silly question at all You can drive straight down to the main entrance and just park there briefly (although it says no parking, you won't be long!) while you get a card. It's one of those hotel entrances where you drive through and round, so keep an eye out for coaches
Kerry
Great! Was just looking at their website again, I cant wait
jamiec, we had a side sea view room and it was really nice, you over look the tennis courts and have a side sea veiw to your left and can see the strip to your right. we used the fridge as a mini bar but didnt use any of the drinks (well it wasnt stocked anyway, think you have to ask them to stock it?) but we just used it as a mini bar and it never got stocked and we wernt charged anything.
also there are a couple of english channels on you tv, there is a film channel showing oldish films all through the day and night such as scream, boys and girls etc. there is also mtv in english and as already said the news channel bbc news and euro news, there a channel showing old english tv programes too like old coranation street and i think cooking programes and things like that. think there are about 16 channels but think the rest are foriegn.
