Yes we had the same letter on friday. We are due to go on 18th June. Not too bothered as I like chinese.
yes we have had letter as well. going 31st may, was at hotel in 2005. the international a la carte room was bigger, so i think thats why the chinese a la carte has moved, as the chinese restaurant was always the most popular.
We had a truly fantastic time. The hotel was everything and more than we'd expected. In a nutshell the following points:
1) Hotel grounds are stunning, immaculately kept and clean.
2) Our rooms (3) were very comfortable and pleasantly furnished. Lovely bathrooms
3) We found the food to be good all round. The main buffet restaurant was great, lots of food, fruit, breads, cakes (!!!!!!!), deserts etc. Lots of chefs cooking fresh food before your eyes. We ate very little pre-cooked food, although our kids did and found it hot and enjoyable. Wonderful breakfasts!
4) 4 x 'al a carte' restaurants (chinese, italian, mediterranean, fish) were REALLY good and we ate in these lots. You do have to pre-book early in the day, but you can book two days at a time, so no great hassle.
5) Pool areas great, but a bit chilly. However we did get used to it and my 10yr old daughter stayed in for ages. Swim up bars a real treat. The one heated pool got a bit crowded, so we didn't use it much, but again, no bother to us.
6) Beach really nice, but not for a bucket and spade holiday. Lots of beds and wind breaks, bar and two restaurants serving fantastic pizzas, kebabs etc. YUMMY!
7) Drinks were OK. Beer very acceptable. Red wine acceptable. White / Rose wine tasted a bit weird, but then we do drink lots of good wine here in the UK, so are spoilt. We don't drink much in the way of spirits, but our kids said they were all OK. Lovely cocktails! Coffee disgusting ... take your own if you need your caffeine hit ... they'll happily sort out hot water for you.
Lovely private snorkelling reef with the most stunning reef, drop-off and colurful fish. Two areas with one more suitable for less confident swimmers. A very long walk-way (totally renewed) to get out there mind, but again we wre on holiday and enjoyed the stroll and the views of Tiran Island and Sinai.
To be honest we went with a little trepidation, but had no worries at all. The most relaxing holiday we've ever had.
Feel free ask specifc questions.
Cheers
Richard
Glad you had a great holiday Richard can you give us any information on the holiday village which is being built next door to LTI. Thanks
I'm afraid I can't really. It's clear that building work is going on in the whole Nabq Bay area, but that resort is not so close that we saw it from the LTI or from the road.
We are going to the LTI in July for our honeymoon.
i stayed here in oct 06 and the building work was not the thing that spoilt my holiday as you rarly noticed it, it was only visable if you looked dircetly through some of the blocks of rooms, beware of the gangs of drunken russains and the lack of service and clean linen and very bland food in the dinning room
when we were there at lot of russians too but found that they tended to keep themseles to themselves, and if you made an effort to speak to them ( normally in a mixture of school french and german) were really quite nice. Still keep in touch with 2 families 18 months later. If you want a exclusive english hotel then I suggest you stay in england or maybe benidorm
One of the main reasons we booked this hotel was that it was a First Choice Premier hotel.
Just checked the First Choice website and its no longer a Premier hotel
The other speciality resturants were good but the Chinese was superb.
Don't worry its brilliant, a really really god hotel, just ignore the russians and you will be fine.
The latest reviews about the food at this hotel are shocking and we go in 5 weeks .How can the food be SO bad It is not something you want to hear when you are AI
Yes, some of the reviews are a bit scary aren't they. This hotel is on my shortlist of 2 for September so it would be could to hear some honest accounts from people recently returning.
A friend of mine and her family returned from Grand Azure two weeks ago after a wonderful two week holiday, celebrating a 21st birthday. They did say that one of the buffet restaurants was closed for refurbishment but the hotel had temporarily openend the tropicana restaurant in the evening. This however did not affect their holiday.
I would have no hesitation in recommending ths hotel and please feel free to ask me any questions or PM me.
When in September are you thinking of going - we are going on 1st Sept.

We will be flying into Sharm on the 4th Sept. Just got to get the hotel sorted now. It's either going to be here or Dreams Vacation. I really can't make my mind up!! I would love to hear from someone who has stayed at both to help sway me!!
