The Sol Guadalope and the sol Magalluf are excellent hotels. You won't go wrong with either.

The Hotel Honolulu is a good Hotel for A/I and on the edge of Magaluff. Their is also the Hotel Palanova which is A/I but it is a good 20 mins walk from Magaluff

Stay away from the Palma Nova hotel if it's the same as when we went it won't be up to scratch.

try the solmelia website, we did last year and saved a packet and i dont think you can go wrong with the sol hotels in magaluf they all seem to be in good positions for the beaches, shops and nightlife

I dont think any of the Sol hotels in Magaluf do all inclusive

You are right Big Red, the Solmelia Hotels offer half and full board, but are not all inclusive.

However I must say that the overwhelming number of people I have met seem to be disappointed with the A/I Hotels - the food is often poorly cooked and presented, and the drinks are poor quality and often served in plastic or paper cups. I own a bar, and we regularly have people coming into the bar with the tell-tale wrist band, who are desperate to have "a proper drink"

I also know that the behaviour of some guests, many of whom go to A/I hotels to consume as much alcohol as it is humanly possible to do, leaves a lot to be desired - I would not want to be in a Hotel Bar full of badly behaved drunks!

I am sure that many people will have different experiences - but I caution people to consider the many pitfalls of these A/I Hotels.

I was just responding to the original subject which was a person looking for a A/I in the Magaluf area.
I have been to A/i 10 years in a row and rearly seen much bother, infact I have seen more rows in the local bars.
regarding the quality of drinks , the A/I hotels serve local brands. You will get these same brands served to you in the local bars unless you ask otherwise, and pay a premium for them/

I LIKE YOUR REPLY BIG RED, we have also experienced very few problems in all inclusive hotels. :bhead

Thankyou for your support. Our family have done A/I now for ten years and found most good value. When the hotel bar closes we head out for a hour or two and give the local bars a bit of trade.
We would probably have a few special drinks then like baileys or a pemium beer.
I think most of the all inclusive hotels try very hard to please but some people expect to much. After all the cost of all inclusive is sometimes very little more than half board.
Sorry if all inclusive is hitting the local bar trade, who after all serve no more than local spirits unless you pay a premium.

Must agree this is a good family hotel in a safe location. We have been going A/I now for ten years and the Lagomonte was our first.
Another good A/I in Mallorca is the Hotel Balmoral in Calls De Mallorca. You can also book direct with this hotel and save a lot.
Happy hunting

last year we stayed at mimosa park in palma nova last year. that was pretty good - i'd be wary of paper thin walls though (our neighbours certainly seemed to be having a good time anyway! )

we booked through alpha-rooms and ended up paying something silly like £17 pppn for all inclusive. booked flights through mytravellite (outbound) and thomsonfly (return)

The Platja D'Or Hotel in Alcudia will be AI this summer. It used to be a Thomson Gold Hotel.

It is just a few metres from a quiet section of the beach, which is backed by pine trees for shade.

The rooms aren't enormous, but have all been refurbished in the last couple of years. There is a nice pool and large garden/sunbathing area. There is a purpose-built air-conditioned entertainment lounge. The staff are all friendly.

It depends what type of thing you are looking for???

Thanks for the info, I am after a ALL Inclusive that may do international branded drinks, pool towels and good sun loungers and may be a mini bar in the room. I would even consider other parts of Europe if need be.
