Some of the advice that has been given on this thread could be considered as aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring the commission of an offence of criminal deception against Mr Audbod's employer.
One contributor actually admits a criminal deception, I suggest this complete thread be deleted forthwith!

That wouldn't be an option with my employer, we're not allowed to take unpaid leave.

i will find out next week for definite, hubby has asked some other men on different shifts if they could cover and 3 of them has said yes , so basically down to manager if he allows it , if not then il have to rearrange dates , thanks again to everyone for their advice.

I remember some years ago I'd been in hospital and when the consultant discharged me I asked how long I would be off work as I'd like to go over to France for a short while. The lovely man laughed and said it was a very good idea so he gave me a certificate to cover it.
