i was wondering if anyone has had good/bad experiences of lower floors at this hotel, and also anyone with bad experiences of a high floor at this hotel?
also, what drinks can you get on the AI?
can you get the cocktails? do they do non-alcoholic ones?
cheers
ian
under a week to go now!!!!!
As for drinks, they do have a daily cocktail in a huge bowl already made up which is usually very nice but also very sweet. Not sure about the non alcoholic Cocktails but I discovered on my last visit that kids can have milkshakes, they have a variety of flavours and are already made up in bottles.
You can have local beer, Strongbow cider, both on draught. You can have all the local spirits, cocktail, mixers, wine and cava by the glass or bottle (You can also take a bottle to your room) Tea, Hot chocolate and Coffee. Try Brandy and Bailey's or Brandy and Tia Maria, the measures are very generous and it's lovely.
The waiters/waitresses really appreciate it if you put a small tip in the jar
on each visit to the bar, I'm sure that you get better measures too.
Hope you have a great time.
Sue
We got back from the Oasis after another Easter break there.
Already we are planning our July break, and we have been spoilt by this hotel in that we are thinking of going back so soon. It just provides everything we need for us and our 5 year olds.
We haven't been there in the summer, so can anyone tell me what the Thomson Kidzone is like? Can your children get into this even if you've booked DIY through the Thomson site?
The only thing that's putting me off if Benidorm itself. We love the beach, but all we seem to do is go from the hotel to the beach, to the town, to the old town, and back again. Oh and the market. Is there anything else which doesn't cost too much? Or is it that Benidorm and the Oasis are just completely different in the summer, and we'll see it in a different light?
Failing that, has anyone been anywhere that offers as much as this hotel? We love the entertainment every night, and if the food wasn't up to much, we'd go S/C.
Just to say, it's still a great hotel, except for the holes in the bar ceiling and the the parents who seem to think it's okay to let kids run riot!
2 days to go.
any last minute tips from any recent visitors?
any good/bad things i should look out for?
any particularly good or bad entertainment or activities?
cheers
ian
do you take your own towels to use on sunbeds/beach or can you just use the ones from the hotel?
cheers
ian
You are not allowed to use the hotels towels for the beach or pool, they are for your room only.
hi im staying at the flamingo oasis and i was wondering where is the best place to change my travellers cheques at... is it at the hotel or is there somewhere close by that wont rip me off and i dont want to be carrying my passport too far with me thanks
Hi m8 best place i found in november was if you come out of hotel turn right go down theres a a cigarette shop just on right before indoor market (bank on the corner too)in there was good and was told theres a good one inside the indoor market
best place for money is the duty free shop the hotel euro price isnt the best.
hi all,
Excellent - thanks for looking in
How busy is the hotel anyone help me out im going next week
they never seem to run out of anything
you will have fun.
if anyone needs to know anything, ask me whilst i am here.
may not reply til tomorrow though.
my word i have already had about 6 meals today.
love it!!
they put signs up this morning saying that towels and other items would be removed from reserved sunbeds if they were left there for "an amount of time" with no-one on them.
however, there were still sunbeds available for the whole day so they didnt need to. this was largely due to the fact it was the worst day since we got here 8 days ago.
when i say worst, i mean there was a 2 hour period of wind. it was still 28 degrees for the rest of the day. and yes, that was the worst we have had.
30 degrees plus every day without a cloud to be had.
the entertainment team work very hard and they do all the activities and also the nighttime shows (well most of them)
i do wish they would either mime better, or not at all though. it does look odd.
what else, well the food is superb and how anyone can say there is not enough choice baffles me.
there are about 6/7 choices of different entire meals every mealtime plus there are salad options also.
drinks are allegedly 2 per card but people come back with 4 or more all the time.
bingo and quiz prizes are FO t-shirts (i have 2 )
thats all for now as my money is running out.
laters
