There are only 2 roads into El Gouna - each manned with full time & armed security men who check every vehicle entering (mirrors under cars/sniffer dogs/all drivers licenses&permits to enter checked). I guess they would check arrivals on foot too - but it's a fair walk from anywhere else!!!

Staff & their bags are checked on departure although Europeans free to enter/depart without physical searches.

I have no concerns whatsoever about security there.
