Even in August you won't fail to be impressed by Fig Tree Bay it's fab. Bye the way we met some people who were staying at the Alva 2 years ago and all they did was rave about the place. I'd say tour on your way to a brill holiday!!!

Hi there
You will enjoy Cyprus, its lovely. Try a Cypriot evening, with dancing and lots of food.
I been to Paphos and Protaras, both good, and different to each other.

it's only a couple of minutes. It's really on the same length of beach but there is a rocky bit of headland which separates fig tree bay and flamingo beach. You have to go up a flight of steps to get off Fig tree walk along the promenade(a couple of hundred yards roughly)then down onto flamingo beach. The Sunrise is 3rd hotel along.

We were there in June and the beach was extremely busy then, having said that if you are there early enough you'll be fine. The beach is the nicest we've ever come across and nicer than Nissi beach, much cleaner. The first time we went we got there about lunchtime and it was extremely busy but people are always leaving so we managed to get some beds right at the end to the left of the beach if you are looking down on it, there was loads of space and it didn't seem too crowded at the end, just where the water sports are. The sea is so clear you can see little fish swimming around, my 4 year old found this great and it kept her amused for ages trying to catch them!!! You'll love it, have a great time.

I was there in June also and I was not impressed at all. It was incredibly busy, but this was made worse by the sheer number of sunbeds. They were parked so close to the sea that you could hardly walk along the shore.
The next beach along is much nicer, bigger and more visible sand!
I also thought there was a lot of litter, particularly at the weekend and so many cigarette ends.

The litter is down to the people who use the beaches, it doesn't grow naturally in Cyprus... we the visitors are the ones to blame !
