I just priced up on website 14 nts manchester in April was coming out at 1388 for two or 694 pp (garden wing room only) so I guess Billy's price is about right. Kind of equates to the price I paid for Bali/ Singapore 10nts/ 3nts of £660...all be it to a different hotel of a similar grade in Bali and the Merchant Court in Singapore.

Even without club room, private xfers and April pricing it seems that you can get an exceptional deal.

At the time of my trip (same dates etc) Virgin were approx £1450 pp and Premier (usually v good) were approx £1320 pp

I was :D now :sulk

while on the subject of Bali prices any idea of a ballpark figure for about 10 nts in July/August ?, not the Ritz just a base, I am tentatively thinking of 2008.

Hi Shirley

Cant help with July/August prices but we are going 14th Sept staying in The Legian Hotel - not the Rizt but a very nice hotel by all accounts. Did this DIY - flight cost £1233.00 for the pair of us with a 3 night stay in Singapore on way home (still to pay for - £164.00) the Legian hotel cost £477.19 for superior cottage including breakfast and transfers to and from airport. In total will have cost £1875.00 for us for 12 nights Bali 3 Singapore I dont think its worked out to expensive.............unless someone on here can tells me different  ......hope this helps give u a rough idea

Regards

pete, regarding the £1421 i paid. It was better than you thought ! That price was for 2 of us not per person. Includes transfers and is for a beach wing room. Says on Hayes and Jarvis website if booked before a certain date (which i cant remember at this precise moment) you would get a free upgrade. Thats why i upgraded to beach wing, hoping i would get a bungalow. Time will tell :shrug

Billybluenose - that sounds a fantastic deal you got, hope you enjoy Bali, never been myself but do fancy it ( seems silly after all this time but slightly put off by terrorism) , don't know why it puts me off because I went to Egypt last year and didn't give it a second thought.
Anyway have a great trip :)

Hi Everyone
New on this forum, but do know one or two folks on HT already.
We have just booked to go to Bali, 8th March next year staying at the Royal Bali Beach Club at Candidasa. Never been before, but done Goa, twice, and Thailand 5 times. Love Phuket.
Does anyone know the hotel we are going to, it is suppose to be very nice, we've booked a 1 bed apt for space.
Got a brilliant deal with Qatar Airways, Manchester - Bali return £463. Flown with them before and very pleased with the service, IN FACT, they upgraded us to 1st Class, now that's the way to travel. OMG, was it good!
If anyone has any tips or advise I'd be VERY grateful, or if there there at the same time, let me know.
Take Care
Cindy

I was in Candidasa in November. It is very quiet. It's on the East Coast. Beaches are not the best, but some fantastic seafood restaurants, and your resort looks great.

However, if you need some nightlife, culture, swimmable beaches, atmosphere etc i'd contemplate moving.

Or, for example if you had 10 nights, i'd do 4 nights Candidasa, 3 nights South Coast Resort (happy to recommend) and 3 nights Ubud. Ubud to me is unmissable. The drives between all 3 places is less than 2 hours, so you won't spend your life in the back of cars!

Hi Billy Bluenose(Alan), Sounds like you got a good deal. We're thinking of going to Bali this Sept. The price from Kuoni for tour and 9 more days is around £2700 - £3000 for the 2 of us (depends on the hotels you pick). It's via KL with Malaysia airlines (the leg room is quite good in economy) I think H & J do a tour as well, via Singapore but we haven't priced it yet. If we do go I'll let you know what we think of it. We'll miss you & Jackie at Ganesh shack in April '08.

hi
all have just logged on to the forum first time in 4 weeks as guess what we have just returned from or yearly trip to Bali. what can i say weather was hot hot hot, met up in
the first few days with are many friends, we have just had a ball.
now to answer some of the questions that have gone back and forth.
first Bali is not about which hotel you staywere or at what time you eat it is all to do with the wonderful people that live there the way they make you feel and the relationships that are formed that call you back year after year.

we stay in a small hotel owned by a local family and we call it our home we no everone by first names and they all now us the welcome that we get at the airport when we arrive is just breath taking.

we always fly singapore airlines but this time went malasian may i add never again.

the price we pay for 2 is £1000 very cheap for the hospitality that we recive
anyway is there any more you need to ask i will be more then happy to reply as you can see it is my best subject

Alan (Billy bluenose),
We booked yesterday for the H&J tour with a bungalow at the PS so hopefully we'll be able to give you feedback and some info when we get back. We're intending to return to Goa April ' 08 so we will let Ganesh know he'll see you sometime in the future. I hope we like Bali. It looks really beautiful and seems quite laid back. Looking forward to relaxing in idyllic surroundings, chillin out with good food and drinks. Can't wait!!!
Regards
Gail & Ray.
