Hello
I desperately need another Goan fix but unfortunately couldn't go this season as it worked out too expensive with the tour operators. I think we were quoted nearly 3,000 pounds for 2 adults and 1 child on a bed and breakfast basis in Jan for 14 nights. I wouldn't mind but the hotel was only a basic 2 star hotel in Baga.
I'm thinking of going back to Goa in either November or December 2012 if we can find a reasonable deal. I know I probably will not be able to find deals like 500 pounds per person again, but I certainly do not want to be paying 1,000 pounds per person.
Thanks in advance.
Where you flying from ? Will keep an eye out for deals.
We always go independantly, fare this time £450 Manchester/Goa with Qatar Arways, Guest house £100/week total cost for 6 weeks £750 each
Spike - we will be flying from Manchester, but if the price is considerably cheaper flying from down south then that is also an option. 400pounds for the flight is very good, will be keeping an eye out. How many months in advance did you book for that price?
Silent man- we went independently once before and got a good deal, but I'm just struggling at the moment to find any good deals like you and spike mention.
I've been looking on Thomson flights and they're offering flight only for about 350 pounds per person for late November/early December 14nights for this year. Obviously this is a late booking, and I'm not sure I'd have the nerve to wait until this time next year to book late flights, just incase none come up again.
We usually go in January but all the years we've been, we've seen much better prices to go in November or December. I suppose this is why we are giving this time of year a try.
we have paid £700 for direct flights with Jewel as there was nothing about even the qatar prices were silly and silly flight times with 23 hours layover... I have now found accomodation 3 weeks apartment with everything £560 total so roughly £900 each then we have to pay visa etc so a grand
We paid £860 for 3 weeks from 9 - 31 December with Jewel in the Crown staying at Senhor Angelo in Calangute but you can get it much cheaper for the first two weeks in December. Should be able to book in January, we usually re-book when we return.
Got a large two bedroom bungalow for £1200 for 3 months from January 1st, just sorting out the flight which I hope to get for around £560, so, £1750ish for 3 month holiday
Would love to go for 3 months but being 70+ insurance is so expensive
Not looking forward to insurance quote for the first time since my heart attack in November 2009
2 weeks middle of February at Palmarinha £610 each, booked Thomas cook flights and got the hotel off Olympic.
With the cost of the Visa it's cost around £850 per person which for Xmas I don't think is too bad it's the only time of year where I can get 3 weeks off work but if I was going any other time I would really be aiming for £600 to £700.
Directlineholidays have holidays to Goa, flight included leaving next week from £587 for 28 nights!!!!!!
I feel sure that with frequent checking and a reasonable place to stay, you'll be able to knock hundreds of pounds off your £3k for three of you. Good luck!
