About 12 months ago I booked 2 holidays to Turkey with an independent company I could have booked all aspects of the holiday individually but chose to book it all through with company as they came with good recommendations and it was a reasonable price.
The first holiday was for a week last October. Due to various circumstances most of the details of the holiday were changed in the run up to it (flight change, number of people I was taking with me and the apartment I was going to stay at) Being a bit of a worrier and the fact that in the end I was travelling by myself with my four year old son I contacted the company many times to check all the details and ensure they had registered all the changes.
When I arrived at the airport I had to wait about an hour for my transfers (luckily it was a day time flight so I wasn't stuck outside an airport with a four year old in the middle of the night) When my transfer arrived it had been expecting to collect me off the original flight, thankfully the two flights were close together in time. All the other changes I had made to the holiday had also not been taken into account, so they were expecting 5 people instead of 2 and they also attempted to take me to the first apartments I had booked instead of the new one I had booked. I spoke to the office on the phone who were fine about it, said I could stay at either the original or new apartment (Thank heavens it was the last week of the season or I don't think this would have been possible)
The next morning I went into the office to pay for the apartment, their paperwork said that I owed the amount for the original apartment not the smaller (cheaper) apartment I was staying at, but once again they were ok about it (although it was rather embarrassing for me)
Anyway the holiday was very good and I loved the resort.
However due to circumstances I had to cancel the holiday I had booked for this coming July. I had originally booked for a much more expensive apartment which the company have stopped using so I moved to a cheaper apartment and the difference between the 2 deposits was £81. Although I realised I would lose the deposit for my apartment when I cancelled I believed the £81 should be returned to me which they did agree to. However after many emails assuring me of various dates for this money to be transferred into my account I still don't have the money (they have been busy, they forgot etc)
As another date for the money has passed again today I have emailed them again but hold out little hope that it will have any affect
Can anyone give me any advice what to do now
surely you havent paid the full amount yet, we are going in july and havent , if not i would just deduct this £81 off the amount you owe them with a letter of explanation and a copy of their email or letter confirming they owe you this and that should be fine
my mistake didnt read it properly, you have cancelled july holiday, couldnt you just have changed dates etc instead of losing the deposits you have paid
Hi Ellie meg, I paid the deposit for a more expensive apartment, then changed to a cheaper one the difference in the deposits is £81 it is this amount they have said that they will give me back. Eventually
Lesley booked with me and I have told her she will get her deposit back which other companies I hasten to add would have said tough you booked you paid deposit so if you decide to cancel then you lose out but I said as you were a returning customer of ours then as an act of good faith we will refund your deposit.
I do know you have been told on quite a few occasions that you will get it soon but as my partner has done a lot of travelling through the winter period as the office is being refurbished then yes it has slipped by us.
As for the holiday last year then yes I will hold my hands up and say it was Icmeleronline that you booked with last year and YOU changed all your booking details with us from a party of 5 in a 2 bedroom apartment to a party of two in a one bedroom apartment and that is why you could not be housed in the original complex.
I did send your changed flight times onto Turkey and they were confirmed so it seems that on the day of arrival there was a mix up and Ali reverted back to the original times of your flight and a mistake was made.
I have just contacted Rami who is not in Turkey at the moment and has once again apologised for not getting this £81 to you but as I say it did keep slipping his mind but to put your mind at rest I will post you out a personal cheque from my own account first thing Saturday morning when I do all my confirmations so you should receive it no later than Tuesday morning.

Lesley jane...reading you post please be reassured John will not see you wrong...he and Rami are well thought of and trustworthy by many of us on H.T. please have faith in them, and trust them, many of us have been on holiday with I.O.L. and will do so in the future.. They are always there if you are in difficulties on your holiday which means alot....dont worry just be patient and trust what John says and all will be fine....

When I originally booked the holiday I booked into the Iguana apartments, when these were closed by your company John, not by me. I re-booked at the Tuncay. As you are aware the Iguana are a lot more expensive, therefore the deposit for them is more (£81 more) than the deposit for the Tuncay.
I think you will find that I am still losing my deposit for the Tuncay apartments,which I am well aware I would do when I canceled.
It is the difference between the two deposits that has been promised me for some time now.

i have to agree with lesley on this occasion the deposit should have been returned as soon as the new booking took place if it was cancelled by icmeler online and out of lesley's control, i assume she would have been entitled to a full refund at the time if she had choosen to have had one if the accommodation she booked was no longer available, well at least it looks like you will get your refund next week
